Sheila Report 25 Jul 2008 12:49

Hi Scott,

What a shame :O( at least you know now what happened to her, and at least you also know that she kept her daughter :O)
If you are offering to send scans of the letters, I do not think it is out of order to ask if could you maybe have a picture of Celina or Sheila, after all you have done all this searching and contacted her granddaughter to offer her this info.
Fingers crossed she sends them to you :O)

Yeah you are right sheila, i will offer her the opotunity to have the letters and include my email address in the next letter, hopefully she may be curious as she said she knows very little about her Grandmothers life.

The results below that Inis kindly gave in her Irish check for me...

Beryl Report 21 Mar 2015 13:41

I have just found a marriage for Sheila A Handley. Sheila married a Patrick Redmond in the last quarter of 1972 in the district of Ealing which ties in with her birth etc.

Hope this helps and you are still able to read this.

Hi Scott,

I know this may not get a reply but I have a similar story although it relates to my grandmother whom I am now trying to find, my father is refusing to let me gather too much information as it is his mother but myself and my brother are trying to find out what happened as my dad was born in 1941 and we have been told that his mother left him. He was subsequently brought up by his grandmother. However over time things have come up including my dads birth certificate which indicates no father and that his mother was a domestic servant at the time of his birth. The exact town of birth is indicated although the place of birth is missing as the birth certificate has been torn off where that would have been recorded. We do have info given to us by our dad although we are not sure how genuine this is as our dad seems to not want us to discover the truth. All we know is that we have a grandmother alive or dead that apparently wanted to meet us when we were young. I find this whole thing so sad and very frustrating that we cant find things out easily even now

There's no reason why you can't get another copy of the birth cert which will give you all its info
