Dear Sally, thank you for your help, Charles James family from the 1851 census is Elizabeth James 47 born Little Torrington Frances James 16 born Great Torrington George James 14 born Great Torrington Mary Ann James 12 born Great Torrington Charles James 9 Born Great Torrington John James 6 born Great Torrington Timothy L James born Great Torrington. Address New Street Great Torrington but i dont know where Charles was that night , the person who found this info for me didn,t say whether he loked for Charles so i didn,t know if you had an index for the 1851 census that you might be able to look on and give me some idea where he might be. If it is to much trouble i will understand as i know James isn,t the most helpful surname, but any help would be gratefully received. Thank again Cherry

Cherry, sorry the only trace I have found is Charles the son in 1891 census Charles 49 widow cat proprietor great torrington Emily daugh 23 charles son 20 cab driver mary Jane daugh 18 george son 15 john son 13 living looks like 82 trewyan st kenwyn nr truro cornwall Do hope this helps. Hi Sally hope you dont mind me asking again but i now know where my relative was born so hopefully you might be able to find him now on the 1851 census. It is Charles James age in 40,s Okehampton born. I already have his family but not him. Thanks again. Cherry

marnie looked again putting in mcgeorge nothing came up, put in sarah george amd the same census came up reading. michael mc george 62 navy pensioner sarah mc george wfe 47 mary ann cook married 23 dressmaker john mc george 4 23 fort st stoke damerel if you would care to email me with your snail mail I will send you copy.
