Me? - I've just got far too much time on my hands, thats all. And it amuses and entertains me :-)

I find inspiration for writing. And I did use the site for doing my family tree before I finished it with every possible relative back to 1635.

So its been a good ride, really.

Yeah, got them *all* back to 1635, but lots of them back earlier than that.

As I mentioned a while ago, Eldrick the merciless
(from where I take my screen name, obviously) ruled the Northumberland Fenlands in the 3rd century AD. I have gone back further, but the earlier ones have to be treated with a bit more caution, especially the ones from the middle east area, they probably need more research but I am content with what I have now.

I mean, 75,326 names is a lot in just one tree.

Not sure which one of us you are speaking to Lily but in my case it is only because they owned land, which would have been recorded, or were of of the gentry, who were also recorded....then there are the others who were shot and hung...who were recorded.

There are other ways.ie:....bastardry acts etc...but all recorded a for some reason or other........if your ancestors were just yer ordinary goody two shoes.....no chance :-)
