Wasn't there a thread on here by KathrynB when I looked in this morning? If so, where's it gone

Yes, there was but it seems to have disappeared. Maybe it's done what the thread title said and gone poof.

Eldrick Report 7 Jul 2008 10:29

I think it's safe to say that because of the originator of the thread, someone will have complained to GR.

They will be feeling all the better for it and no doubt passing PM's to their friends to say -'That showed her! - Take that one on the chin then!'

Was that the playtime bell I just heard?

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 7 Jul 2008 10:30

ah right - seemed innocuous to me, was just going to add and tell her that if she needed advice on what to do, then he was the wrong one for her - she would know if he was the right one without asking for assistance!!

Quite possibly Eldrick. When I last read the thread there was nothing on it that said it should be deleted.

I think Kathryn always intended to delete the thread herself. I believe she had deleted a similar one previously. Nothing underhand going on at all

yes yes!

I said at the beginning I was going to poof it before long!

It started some hours ago, a different thread I also said I would poof.

Mainly because it was about, you know, living people. ;)

So I posted a thread just to say I'd poofed it as promised, in case anybody was wondering.

And people got curious. So I posted the meat of it in that thread.

But the new thread was kinda a downer. The first thread was much more fun!

Anyhow, it's 5:30 a.m. here, and I gotta catch some winks, so again, I wanted to clear it off before I went. Again, just because it was about people not present, and I didn't like leaving them up for discussion. Poor No. 1 doesn't need the world at large knowing for eternity that he picks his nose!

Ann -- quick before I go -- "he was the wrong one for her" -- which one???

-- or leave me your answer, and I'll pick it up later.

And if you say No. 2, the blues guitarist in the southwest US with the adobe house and the little green sports car, who wants me to meet him in Cleveland where he will get us *celebrity* tickets to the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame from his old boyhood buddy who is the lead singer in a well-known 70s band, and we will go on roller coasters and ferris wheels ... and do other stuff ... is the wrong one for me, well, I'll take it under advisement. ;)

I have to admit to not being properly awake when I read it this morning.

well if you have to ask, then neither of them are the right one!! you'd know if they were - however if it's not a life-long commitment and everlasting love you're looking for, go for the one who makes you laugh the most

Ooooh, it's so complicated.

No. 1 is wholly dependent on me economically -- something I never *agreed* to, it just happened. I'd have booted him to the curb some time ago, but for that. It's my conscience!

My conscience won't let me boot him, even though there's nothing wrong in itself with telling somebody you just don't want to live with him anymore. If I told him that, he'd be homeless.

And my conscience won't let me run off to Cleveland with somebody else while I'm still living with him!

But when I look at it that way -- I'm doing him a favour regardless of whether I run off to Cleveland or not, aren't I? You know, this all may have been very helpful. I really have told him I wanted to end it, more than once in the past, and he just didn't leave. So any time he got after that is just bonus.

Hmm. Now I just need to get a new passport.

Oh -- they both make me laugh uncontrollably. But No. 2 has not yet demonstrated a propensity for eating all the brownies, so he's ahead.

well let's hope you make the right choice - at least you have a choice hun, some of us don't!!!!

I assume you have thought about the fact that you actually 'know' number 1 warts and all and, if I have got this right, you have never met/seen number 2.

What if he actually doesn't exist except in the virtual world?

Or, knowing how sensible you are maybe I have got it wrong and you have met him. In which case go with your 'gut' instinct. Life is too short to miss opportunities.

Second Ann -- Ah, he exists. I have his videos. He's on youtube. ;) (And if he wanted to pretend he was young and gorgeous, he blew it.)

And we've been on the phone. And I've read his reviews. And he doesn't know I'm who I say I am, but he's seen my notices on the net too -- assuming I'm me. ;) Heck, in searching for evidence of my existence, I just found something I did in 1981 written up in the New York Times of the day! No name, but the report that "there was no violence" at the event I organized, heh. Good reviews all round.

I'm so sensible! I just wrote to ask him what date he might like our date to be on. He's on southwest time, and I have to get some sleep!!! so we'll all just have to wait.

Only thing is, Cleveland. Ew. And the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame. What happens if it puts me to sleep? The original idea of me going to where he is (he's already been where I am; lived here years ago) to cavort in the desert, that just sounds better.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 7 Jul 2008 12:40

mmmmm cavorting in a desert - all that sand!!! not my bag for sure

I've only seen this thread, but would say that if neither of you has other commitments, maybe it would be fun to go with the flow.....................and enjoy life:))

Good luck with whatever decision you make.

And cacti. I've seen the desert Las Vegas to Death Valley, but apparently the desert where he is is different. More deserty I think. I don't think I've actually seen Cleveland, but I've seen Toledo and Pittsburgh, and that's probably adequate ... I dunno, desert cavorting is being highly recommended from that end. And Air Canada has some danged cheap flights ... and really. Cleveland. Where did you spend your honeymoon? Oh, Cleveland OH. Not in the top 10 destinations, I think. He's just really hot to show me that hall of fame. And his boyhood haunts. Such eager creatures, boys.

Just had a look in here Kathryn...
Never take advice on a man.... take your own advice, even that can be a bit *iffy* sometimes.
Well mine always is anyway. ;-0)

Heh. I asked for advice ... didn't say I'd take it, now ... or which advice I'd take. ;)

I do like some of the advice here! I'm considering about mid-August ... unless I can work out the logistics earlier ... Seriously. I think I've covered any debt I owe No. 1 a long time ago.

If No. 2 doesn't work out ... or heck, if he does ... well, I don't know. I'll be back looking for advice. ;)
