Dear Muffy
This is something very close to my heart. I was born August 21st and always the youngest, then blow me If i did'nt go and have my daughter on August the 31st. It was so noticeable that she was the youngest, and behind all her friends physically, however she just about managed to keep up, in her school work, getting A* for some subjects. however she was always teased for being imature, starting her periods last, and whatever....as she turned 11 two days before starting 'big; school, her classmates all started going 12.
My niece was born 13 days later and was one of eldest, in her year, having to go to 'big' school a year later than my daughter, and did well at school, being older...
another niece was born 3rd sept, a year later, but didn't get in untill yet another year, so she was eldest in year, two years behind, in school but only 368 days younger....

my daughter has the last laugh now, as she is 5'11' and a model, so all the bullying and teasing she had,has obviously stopped...

I,ve got children on both sides ...born June and August .......also one born September ......

My August born baby will always be the youngest but will never grow up ...
My September baby should have been left school by now ......really ready for work or collage

I think it depends on the child

My husband will be 55 at the end of August and I will be a year younger a couple of weeks before but I would say I am still more grown up than him :-) So I think the answer is girls catch up when quite young and boys never grow up.
