As soon as my eldest got a job straight out of school he contributed toward his keep a token amount. Now he's in the Army he gives us keep when he's home on leave he has also offered to help out when if we ever needed him to.
Our next son has now left school and we signed him up to a few agencies so he can get some work during the holidays until he goes to rugby accademy in september, this will give him pocket money during the summer,he knows we cannot afford to give him hand outs, son number three is pretty good at finding things to occupy(?) him during the holidays , and being in Army Cadets means he's always off on camps and activities.
My 8 year old loves to do chores and help out around the home, he does'nt get regular pocket money but does get a treat now and again when we go to a car boot sale, the last treat was a small piece of Amythyst for 50pence but he's delighted with his little bit of treasure.
In this day and age family loyalty is most important in our home, this doesn't come from giving out money

None of my 7 kids has ever got
ONE CENT of pocket money!

Plus, I make them all sleep outside
in a cold draughty shed!

That shows them who's boss!

They should be giving you pocket money lol.

My two had paper round's and the money they got from that, they had to save some of it and put it towards thing's like expensive trainer's which I refused to buy for them unless it was for xmas.

At the time they thought I was a bad parent lol, as some of their pals got it 'all' and more.

When they started work they both put money into the house. If they moaned i told them to buy their own food and do all their own washing etc. They decided it was a good deal they had here. more so when they moved out.

They both have said what we did with them was the best thing.
They have both alway's had job's, from age of 13,paper round's and right through school till now.
