peanut butter? try making a peanut sauce & have satays (not me! I'm allergic to peanuts). Lots of recipes on the internet.

I make "garbage soup" with the "not quite right" veggies in the fridge.... you can add anything (I don't advise using the peanut butter).
:-D

while the old man and his mate were out shopping yesterday I was left to play quietly on my own.

Having made a couple of suet rolys to bake for puddings, one with a bit of jam out of the bottom of the jar and the other with a bit of syrup that was left,I thought I might knock up a bit of pastry.

I made a dozen mince pies, green tomato mincemeat from a couple of years ago which is still keeping well, egg and cheese rind tarts (egg and cheese ends) and a quite expensive looking tart.

That was made from some mini-stollens that have not been eaten, some lemon rind I had in the freezer and a couple of eggs. I crumbed up the stollens in the liquidizer with the peel and mixed in the egg and the very last drainings of the syrup bottle and chucked in a slug of some lemon cream liquer which stands on the cupboard from year end to year end.

We haven't eaten it yet but they will pretend they are enjoying it as they have been trained to do and as they do if they know what is good for them!

Scozz I make a type of garbage soup (love the name ) its really a broth, when its cooked I mash it down with a potato masher so it becomes a very thick soup, we usually have it with Soda bread , and my oh likes it over a plateful of chips...

love Jean x

My hanging soup.

I tend to put most soup through a sieve. It tends to make it taste more like it was meant to be rather than cobbled up.
