Well, oldest son was really taken with the scrapbook page in the box frame. Just need to do one now for his wife for her birthday in November to make a pair!

Have had a play this morning with the Zutter binding machine I bought in the flea market sale last weekend - brilliant little machine. I made a 20 page mini album which is beautifully ring bound and awaits filling with photos. A definite bargain....

Wish I* could have found such a bargain at the flea fair we went to this morning, loads, well hundreds of stalls but nothing of interest to me sadly.

Really must get down to doing another page soon. Neglected it a bit lately as so much else to do.

Well, I hope that Daff is now inspired, loved that page Daff, very vibrant and 'child like' And that is not an insult, it captures the essence of childhood, great!!!

Working on the Anniversary page now Daff, matting the photos first.

Finished my anniversary day out page and I quite like it. The backing paper, although you can't see a lot of it, is one of the photos of pink leaves printed on two sheets of ordinary A4 paper. Used 9 small (2.5x3 photos and two slightly bigger put together to look like one of the two of us.

Westonbirt and Tetbury are both lovely to visit. Glad you like the page anyway, it seemed to come together very easily.

Hi Ladies

Haven't been in the craft room much this week, although I have managed to do one small page for my Grandmother'sbox album - a sepia photo of her sorting coffee beans on the farm in East Africa, so all done in coffee and cream colours.

I'm just off to give the house a very quick lick and promise (more to keep OH happy but he can do the cobwebs - well, who am I to make a spider or twenty homeless?!) and then I'm going to shut myself away to do the double page of Thorpe Park last weekend.

Got the October issue of Scrapbook Trends through the door on Thursday - some lovely pages again this month.

Oh dear, sorry if I'm a bad influence! Son number 3 is cursing me at the moment too - I've got his girlfriend into scrapbooking big time and now they're just about to move into their first house she's already commandeered the small bedroom as a craft room!!! He's not a happy bunny...........

Now I really am off to do the housework..........maybe after a cuppa and a browse through some magazines to get some inspiration for my pages!

Lolol.... I am being a bit slow, aren't I? I have a couple of pages sorted, more or less, but something is missing from them... I feel I need some more ribbon, lol........ that, too, is Ann's fault, after seeing her ribbon stash last week, lolol Oh, and her scrapbooks have given me lots of ideas, too.... I have played around with a couple... Ann, I have got those garden photos *smudged* and I love the effects... it really works well with the *prettiest Flower in my Garden* theme... but I want to play around with the idea I had as well..... I have been zooming in onto one of the flowers, and have practised cutting them out petal by petal to turn into 3D flowers. I made a complete hash of the first one, the second isn't too bad.... and the third is better, the roses work better than the fuschia, lol

Maybe next week I'll finish them..... the other page is a faiground theme, and is much easier, and I have started gathering photos for the sandpit.....

Tomorrow, son number 2 will be sending photos of my other Granddaughter's first day at proper school, lol....... she is only four, bless her! So I have been taking photos of pens, pencils, lunchbox etc to mute and fudge and use as backgrounds... then I shall start her book, as well.

To be honest... I am enjoying the learning and gathering process, as I find it very relaxing and therapeutic!! That feels like it is the best bit, at the moment, lol

Love

With the 3D flowers Daff, are you printing on photo paper or card. You actually only need photo paper for the top part, if you know what I mean, sometimes a none shiny effect is better. Glad you got the blurred focus sorted.

JustJean Report 7 Sep 2009 08:25

Hi, everyone, now whats this about blurred photos, is it camera shake or something more proffesional? you leave me standing when it comes to photo wizardry, Ann...I am so upset about the g.r. print offs, came out dark will have to try again. although some are fine, wonder why there is a differance....I was getting D to get them printed for me, ready for when I can start scrapping again, although by the looks of things it will be some time with all the clearing out and of course the kitchen being updated... how I miss the craft room I used to have , it was great to just walk away and shut the door, now I have to put my stuff away everytime....any new pages for me folks...hope you are all well and busy scrapping...

Jean, the photos that are dark will have been dark on the camera, not made dark by downloading onto your PC. If you have a photo programme such as Picasa on your PC it might be possible to brighten them. Send me one of the dark ones and I will see if I can do anything with it.

Blurred photos that Daff is talking about. On one of my pages of my granddaughter I have used one of the main photos as backing paper. What I did was use the soft focus on Picasa whereby I can keep the main subject, in this case my granddaughter, in focus and throw the rest of the photo, in this case trees, out of focus.

Morning all.... I am off to the dentist soon.... and I feel a trip to Hobbycraft is a suitable reward for being a good, brave girl, don't you think, lol.... Ann, I have card on my shopping list! I have been practising with ordinary paper... I have reams of it from my days as a tutor, lol

I couldn't sleep last night for a couple of hours.... I have had my 7 hours, but with a gap of 4 in between, lol not straight through.... anyway, I was going over and over this page in my head..... and I have one more effect I want to try and get... I can use it on Princess Twinkletoes' pages if it is successful, but again I have no idea how to achieve the effect I have in my head... as I have said, I always did try to run before I could crawl, lol

But I shall start gluing this afternoon as soon as I have printed off all the stuff I need for my appointment tomorrow. My mum has also given me another bag full of negatives, photos and memorabilia... looks as though this was a family visit to Bristol Zoo with my younger siblings... by the look of some of the outfits, it was after I had married and left home, and moved overseas... I haven't seen them before. But this would be an easy one to start my mother's with, I think..... more room to hide mistakes, lolol

Must go.... want to have a nosey around the boards before I go out as it is a bit too early to leave yet... appointment is at 11.15.

Love

Daff xxxx
