Hi all,

I got my OH the Harry Potter six set for christmas so we've done two each night since new year............she's a big fan.

Cath, I read that first time and thought you meant the roads were so bad that it took you until tomorrow to get back.
After reading Ann's comment, it hit me....................WHAT!!!
Sorry, I just couldn't stop laughing.

Well that's the good times over as I am back to my work tomorrow as a motorcycle courier..................Hey it's going to thaw out in about ten days.

Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch,

Frank, you take care, I am glad my son doesn't have his scooter on the road now with the bad weather, at least walking or getting the bus seems safer unless he falls as I did before Christmas. I don't think he would try cycling if the roads are still icy.

Cath, I think lots of schools are delaying the opening, I suppose they need time to warm up again too and check there are no burst pipes. Hope you can make it safely today.

Take care everyone.

Ann & Frank , Its old age setting in .

Well what a start to the day .
Left for school run at 8.10 am...... got within 1/4 mile , stuck in traffic due to an accident , eventually got him into school at 9.20 am .

Then gets back home and hubby who is disabled had been waiting so long for me to get back so i could help him to the bathroom had tried to get there himself but ended up falling and was stuck at the top of the landing .

Can the day get any worse ?

My word, you have your hands full Cath, I hope your hubby is ok now. What a worry, to have to leave him home alone when you can't get back quickly.

Hope things ease up for you.

Hi Cath, hope that your Hubby is okay now. What a worry for both of you.

Will you have to do the school run tomorrow, or will the school be closed like so many others are?

I should have been out with the Ring & Ride this morning, but as I was a bit under decided to save my strenght and potter around at home instead.

The snow started about an hour after I cancelled the Ring & Ride. It snowed for about an haour then stopped.
Has snowed a bit this afternoon and looks like it will snow this evening/tonight.

Traffic still moving on the road outside, buses running too.
Hope to go out with the R & R early on Saturday morning, before it gets too crowded.

Probably just as well you didn't go then Theresa, hopefully it will be dry on Saturday when you go. It was bitterly cold out here today.

Hubby is ok now but has some bad bruising to his back as he hit it on the stairs ,( our stairs are split level )
I don't usually leave him on his own .. son comes down but he got stuck in snow .

Thanks for asking

We are expected to get a lot of snow tonight and tomorrow so don,t think i will risk the school run .

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Jan 2010 17:34

Thank goodness it is only bruising, after Eddies fall down the stairs we don't want to hear of another one in hospital. Hope the bruises soon go Cath, I expect he is sore.

Lovely thread. I don't post that much on here nowadays. The ages of the posters seem younger than of days gone by. Nothing wrong in that as a general rule, but I have a photo in the funeral parlour window "coming soon" and like looking back.
If i may be constructive (or destructive) ,a lot of the things which appear on the first page might be better housed on separate sections. Not saying I'm right, but just an opinion.
Best wishes to all, particularly those who qualify for a long service award.

Happy days

Hi everyone

It's about 8C here, and for once, it is NOT raining!!

Welcome to the thread Harry .............. although I am not sure what you mean about several things on the first page would be better in separate sections???

This is just meant to a thread where people can meet up and chat in a pleasant manner ..... at least, that is how I understand it.

we just go with the flow ................. just as one would in a real-life conversation.

and they are all lovely people on here .... we have to thank Ann for starting it!

Yes you are right Sylvia, it is just a chat between friends thread. I am not sure what you mean Harry either but you are very welcome.

Just had a thought (ouch!)

I wonder if Harry was referring to the first page on the board ............... what I sometimes call the index page ...... and not to the first page of this thread?????

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Jan 2010 21:46

Well we wont know unless he returns to explain I suppose.

Harry

Harry Report 5 Jan 2010 23:46

Yes, I was referring to the first page of the board. Just testing to see how bright you all were.
Sorry to cause confusion.

Happy days

AnninGlos Report 6 Jan 2010 11:26

We are not very bright Harry, needs to be words of one syllable.

Harry

Harry Report 6 Jan 2010 13:56

The first letter of your posting Ann contains two syllables - the only one so to do.
If you have others who are not so bright, I have some snow for sale.

Happy days

If you are not too bright, it is O.K. to try harder.(that applies to me)

How lovely to see your name again BC. May I remind you that I am still a millionaire, but sadly, only in pennies.
