You see that is why I really don't do stamping!!!!!!!

I suppose I really ought to go for some lessons to improve my technique, but then I always find something else to do instead, will get round to it one day.

Just off to make a new baby card for my expected new grandchild next month, no idea whether it is a boy or girl so will make two, don't want to be caught out if it comes early!

Been doing some family history research this week at the records office, nice to get back into it have not done anything with it for quite some time. Have got to some dead ends and cannot seem to get past them, but I did break one of them this week - so there is hope for the rest of them. I think it was looking at the records with fresh eyes. I am also surprised at how many people on Ancestry are researching my family line, as far as I am aware they are not relatives of mine but who knows, will have to at some point contact them.

Hi all,
And just when I thought that Spring was just around the corner, down comes that white, cold, wet stuff - yes, SNOW, SNOW, SNOW ands it's quite thick again. Just think of all those cards I can make because I'm not going outside to break my neck!
I had to go to the cardiologist today but Johan did too so in the car from here to hospital. On the way home popped in to a D.I.Y. shop as we want a new laminate kitchen floor. I also thought of picking up some samples/offcuts of wallpaper, both thick and thin. I think I can use some of these bits and pieces as background on some cards I am going to make - cheap anyway.
Tomorrow my help comes as she couldn't come on Monday and in the afternoon we have a pedicurist who comes to us.
At the end of the afternoon somebody is coming from one of the schools here in Almere as Johan has promised the school some tools which he doesn't use any more. He says that if he dies they may just be thrown out and he wants to put them to good use now.
Some of the tools were from my father too. Feel a bit sad but Johan is right that they will be made good use of here.
It is Carnaval here and the children have a holiday.
bye bye sylvia xxx

Sorry not been on line for a few days my modem broke and had to wait for a new one to be delivered, arrived today and I have managed to get it set up tonight and working.

Snow again here today and it is soooooo cold.

Sylvia hope things went well for you both at the hospital. At least if you are stuck in home you can get lots of crafting done. Wallpaper makes excellent backing paper, and so much cheaper.

Ann baby cards not quite finished ran out of embellishments so need to go shopping for a few for the different pages.

Keep warm all of you.

Hi all, Jo glad you have got back on line, annoying when that happens isn't it. Hope you got your embellishments as well.
Sylvia, hope you are all tucked up and warm, don't risk going out if it is slippery.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday the temperature never got above freezing with some snow flurries and lots of sun, now today is damp and grey skies, I prefer the cold with the sun, somehow makes you feel better.

Just finished making two more cards, still have 3 left to make for this months family birthdays and anniversaries, still haven't finished the new baby cards as I have not had chance to go into town to get some new embellishments. Looks like that will be the job for Sunday.

Have a lovely weekend all of you.

Could do without any sort of cold at all at the moment as our central heating has packed up!!! Brrr it is chilly!

Jill in France Report 12 Feb 2010 19:05

Ann, hope you have your heating sorted, typical when it gets really cold something like that happens.
We woke up to a dusting of snow yesterday but didnt last long.
Classes have gone very well this week and one of the cards made was an easel card plus messed about with alcohol inks and altered some wall tiles. Have put some cards on FB and will try and remember to take photos before I use them :)
Hope everyone has a good weekend planned

Nope, heating not sorted, it actually decided to flick back on this afternoon for two hours, then decided to flick off again so resorted to blankets this evening.

Well I didn't grow up with central heating!!!

Jo Jo Report 14 Feb 2010 15:52

Sorry to hear that your heating is not working Ann, you must be so cold, hope you get it sorted soon, nothing worse than being cold, although I am always cold.

Just finished making my ATC's and three birthday cards, so quite pleased with my self. Still have the baby cards to finish though was hoping to go and get the bits I needed but have not had chance and now the children are off school next week, I've got them all here for 2 days and I am going to stay at daughters for 2 days, so not much chance next week.

Been snowing this afternoon, then it rained now the sun is shining wonder what it will do next!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hallo everybody,
Could really say hallo girls, as I don't suppose there are any 'boys' looking in, or if they are they daren't acknowledge the fact!!
I had a brother in law here who did excellent cross stitching work, but I couldn't see Johan doing that sort of thing - too technical, likes pulling machines to bits etc.
I have been able to make a few cards these last few days. My help in the house is coming along fine and is becoming quite useful. I think it is easier to train somebody who knows nothing than a knowall who won't do things your way.
We still have snow on the ground and the sun isn't strong enough yet to melt it.
Every year I have our balcony looking Springlike in March for Johan's birthday, but if the weather doesn't change soon then I won't be able to do it this year. I am going to buy some daffodills and other bulbs at the end of the week.
Well tomorrow is my big day when I hear what they are going to do to me at the hospital. I am not afraid, just pleased they are going to do something.
greetings Sylvia xxx

Heating has been fixed JO.
Sylvia, usually for Valentines day OH has brought on a pot of little daffodils but this year they are way behind. I suppose what it really is, is that the past few years everything has been very early because it was so mild. This year it is all back to normal but to us it seems late.

Hope you get on Ok at the hospital.

Morning Ladies, hope you are all well.

Ann, please tho hear that your heating has now been repaired and you are lovely and warm.

Sylvia hope everything goes well tomorrow at the hospital will be thinking of you and really hope this time they can sort you out.

Now for the news!!

Yesterday I received a phone call from Barbara in Cornwall. She has been in hospital following a second knee operation where she managed to catch a bug, which kept her in hospital longer than anticipated. She is now at home on crutches, but is still not feeling well at all, with so much pain and discomfort in her knee, this one is so much worse than the last op she had on her other knee. I am sure we all wish her a speedy recovery.

I have also received a phone call this morning from Lizz, she unfortunately has had a bad fall and is in hospital at the moment with a broken bone in her back. She is waiting for a scan on her back for the doctors to decide whether they will need to operate or just put her in plaster!! Again I am sure we all wish Lizz a speedy recovery and I will let you know as soon as I have more information.
