Hallo all,
Yes, it's lil ól me again. I only had to spend one night in hospital thank goodness. I had to share my room with a man and that for me is offputting to say the least.
Anyway they couldn't find anything wrong with my intestines. I had to drink 6 litres of that horrible stuff to clear your bowels for an investigation. I thought when I had drunk one litre I was finished but no I had another 5 litres to drink.
Johan had his birthday yesterday and I had it all wrong again. He was 88 and not 87. What a stupid old fool I am.
I just couldn't think what to buy him. Books, books, books/. Yes, but he bringslots of books home from the library every week and at 88 has read most of the ones he wants to read. I had this wonderful idea of buying secondhand books on the internet. We have Marktplaats, which I believe is something like Ebay. I managed to find 5 books so asked the dealer for a good price and he took 1 Euro off each book. I couldn't resist an English book called DEAD CAT. This gives 100 uses for a dead cat. Very funny.
Today a sister and brother in law of Johan's came so I had to be busy cooking. I prefer to have everybody on one day but that is not always possible.
I have now lost 30 kilos in weight and all my trousers just fall off me, so must buy some new ones. I was going to the dressmaker to have the others altered but my daughter said it is not worth it.
It is bitterly cold here at the moment. Last year we had the hottest day of the year and this year we have the coldest I think.
Now have a nice eveing.

It is bitterly cold here Sylvia and we have lots and lots of snow again. Should have gone to the hairdressers this morning but could not get my car off the drive and the roads were even worse. The came along this afternoon with a snow plough so that the buses could get through, but it has snowed ever since and it is now 3" deep again on the road. so no going out. They are forecasting a frost when it stops snowing so that should make it very interesting!

Sylvia, belated Happy Birthday to Johan, hope he had a lovely day. Good that you only had to stay in for one night especially as you were in with a man, but great that they found nothing wrong.
Take care and keep warm

well we had snow again today but really only sleat, but the weather forecast is no better for the following week.
Last Wednesday the doctor started to do the implant magnets in my mouth for my new dentures. I thought he was never going to stop drilling. I have had a lot of stitches in my gums too and have difficulty in opening my mouth and eating. My face is all black and blue. I went shopping today and everybody kept asking me whether I had had a fall.
I have had a lot of pain and taken a lot of paracetamol with codeine tablets.
Have a nice Easter everybody.

Sorry its late, but I hope you had a lovely birthday Jill!!

Weather here very cold today but lovely and sunny so makes a lovely change.

Silvia, sorry to hear that the dentist has made such a mess of your mouth I really hope you are now feeling a little less sore and the painkillers are working well. Hopefully when it is fully healed you will be so much better.

Take care everyone

Happy birthday Babs (Maisie) hope you are having a lovely day.

hope your birthday was a good one too Jill.

Ooh Sylvia, that does sound painful and nasty. I hope that, in the end, all the pain will have been worth it. Was all that pain expensive too? Hope it all heals soon for you.

Today it has been sunny and, where sheltered quite warm. But there is a bitterly cold wind, I walked to the shops and my face was frozen, I was so pleased to get back into the warm again. Then I stood out in the garden on the patio with no coat on potting on some small plants which I then put in the conservatory, and I was quite warm. I also got a line of washing dried in a couple of hours.

Hi all,
Well, my face is almost back to normal - apart from the fact that I have not had the teeth put in yet. I really did have a black and bkue face and swollen. Everybody asking if I had had a fall and whether somebody - Johan? - had punched me up. I have to go back again tomorrow so don't know what he will say.
It's still bitterly cold here, but dry, so that is good.
My eldest daughter is going to England on Thursday so have made a list of things she can bring me back. It used to be the other way round at one time.
I was surprised on Saturday when I switched the computer on and Google appeared on the screen with a page of cup cakes and in the middle "Happy Birthday Linda". It was my granddaughter's 30th birthday and she didn't even know it was on there. I think Facebook put it on.
Now have a nice evening, Sylvia xxx

Hi Sylvia, hope you get your new teeth soon. But glad the swelling and bruising is going.

It is very cold here too. And no sun at all here today either, so much for spring.

I have been making some cards for charity today, they sell them at a local residential home, they have made £50 in under 2 months so I am pleased with that. :-)

Jo Jo Report 10 Apr 2013 14:27

Ann that is fantastic to raise so much money for charity. I tend to make a pack as a raffle prize, but selling individual would raise more money.

Weather here for the first time is reasonable. There is little wind and the sun is even trying to shine and it is not too cold for a for a change. Lets hope this is the start of spring, the birds certainly think so.

Sylvia good to hear that your face is slowly returning to normal lets hope when the teeth are put in things improve for you.

I am knitting at the moment rather than making cards. Local church is doing the Big Knit for Age UK so I am helping by knitting the tops for bottles don't take long to do but are quite boring so am doing at the same time as the clothes for my granddaughters dolls. Think she has a wardrobe full by now!!

Have a good day

I am supposed to be knitting as well but not getting on that well, by the time I should be knitting (i.e. when watching TV in the evenings) I am too tired to concentrate. I have made 4 cards this afternoon for the charity thought so that is something.
the sun is shining here at the moment although it has been a mainly gloomy day today.

Afternoon ladies, hope you are all well and enjoying the better weather. It has been very mixed here today with sun, rain, hail and of course very strong winds. Still lovely to have some sun makes everything so much better. Thank you for my lovely birthday cards they were all so different and special. I will send out an email will just wait for Heathers list and will send both out together.
Have a lovely weekend

How quiet is is on the board. Perhaps everybody is making their Xmas cards so that they will be ready on time!
Well at last the weather here has turned warmer. We do, however, still have a biting cold wind.
Johan has a swollen hand and has had this for a couple of weeks now. Today he went to the doctor and she sent him to the hospital for an x-ray to be made. He is now waiting for the result of the x-ray.
Never a dull moment here!
On the 31st we have the crowning of our new king - now prince Willem-Alexander and princess Maxima will be queen.
Enjoy the sun, Sylvia xxx

Well after one lovely very warm sunny day, today was back to normal, rain and a very chilly wind. We have frosts forecast for the end of the week so I would imagine the cold is here to stay for a few more days now.
Still have not made any cards, will have to get stuck in this weekend as I have 3 anniversary, 3 birthday cards, new baby and some thank you cards to make so think I will be busy.
Hope that it is nothing serious with Johans hand and that you do not have to wait too long for the results. Have not thought about Christmas cards yet, although I received a bought one last year that I loved so might try to recreate!!
Have a good week

Cannot understand why my last two memos have not been printed. The last one was only yesterday - 30 April.
Keep this short as I will be wasting my time if it is not printed.

Hi all,
Yes, we too are having lovely weather and the trees are all green and those that should are in blossom. Yes, Spring is certainly lovely. We have also a new friend moved in outside our back door. It is a blackbird who has built her nest. She is so busy going backwards and forwards with food. I do hope our resident pussy cat won't find it.
Last Thursday I went to the urologist and he has given orders for my bladder to be rinsed out every day now. Today for the first time I was told by the nurse that the whole bag of fluid went into my bladder, whereas usually only a quarter of the bag goes in because of my shrunken bladder. I am over the moon because it seems that his experiment must be working. I now have a tap fitted which I turn on and off. Oh joy to think that one day I can lead a more normal life without the district nurse coming in every day. I have been making lots of cards to take my mind off things and I do love being able to read this thread.
I do hope this weather continues. We have had so many festive days lately. Prince Willem-Alexander, as he was then, had his birthday on the 27th April and then he was crowned king with his wife Maxima queen. Prince Charles and Camilla were there. Then we had 4 May which is the eve of Remembrance Day and 5 May Remembrance Day itself. Lots of bands etc and everybody wearing orange hats, scarfs, tooters etc.etc.This Thursday we have Ascension Day on Thursday which is also a holiday.
Now who has the next birthday?

Good to hear that things are finally going well for you Sylvia lets hope they keep improving. Like you the weather here is lovely at the moment so warm, it makes a change from the overcast weather we had been having.
The next birthdays are not till June, Jean 6/6 and Maureen and Anne 10/6. by then we are half way through the year. Soon be thinking about making Christmas cards.........

Unlike you Sylvia, I cannot get into card making at the moment, really need to get myself in gear and get and start to catch up. Really need to get some cards in hand as I have used up all my ready made ones and am making them as I need them, and that is a pain getting everything out and then putting it all away just to make one card. Wish I had a craft room!!!!

Have a great week

Hallo, hallo, hallo, can you hear me mother? Who used to use this phrase in England, or was it Great Britain?
What cold weather we are having.
Yesterday they had here a big flower/plant market and lots of other stalls so I was in my glory.I bought a small white model penny farthing bicycle with a large plant pot. So, then I had to buy a large hanging plant. If you had seen me you too would have laughed. this model bicycle on my scooter as well as other shopping. I had to go home and go out again for the rest of my shopping.
Johan and I went out today to the braderie where there were lots of stalls selling goods cheaply. It was so cold and I didn't think it was very good so we were soon home again. Anyhow managed to get Johan out for a breath of fresh air.

See you all soon I hope.

Evening Sylvia, we have had a beautiful day here today, lovely and sunny but a very chilly evening now. The rest of the week has been very windy and with lots of rain. We are still getting frosts in the evening though. Planters sound lovely Sylvia, you did well to get them home safely. Hopefully you will be getting the nice weather we had today.

Have a lovely week and enjoy your crafting.

Evening ladies, hope you are all keeping well. The weather here is miserable very cold, wet and windy I do hope it is better where you are. Looking at the weather forecast it looks as if it is going to be the same all week - when will we see spring. I have noticed that the birds are really struggling, Normally at this time of year my bird food does not really get eaten as quickly as in winter, but I am finding I am filling up the feeders and trays far more often than in the height of winter, I have several nests with tits in and the adults are not going back and forth as often as they would be doing in a normal spring, obviously cannot find fresh food as quick, rally hope it improves soon.

Take care,
Joxxx
