Scozz, I did post on one of the threads that GR had only removed the " LINK " to the old tree

They never delete it from the system

I just found out something........

On my own home page (NOT the GR home page) I have a Favourites Tool Bar. One of the items on the bar is my Genes Reunited Tree.

I don't usually use that link, but tried it, a minute ago.

I was taken to the OLD tree!

I tried adding a spouse to someone (I have about 80 new names for my tree) and IT WORKED!

I'll go add the rest of the names, before GR see this post and delete the old tree completely.

Does the Beta version include photos and all the other info which have now vanished along with the old tree?

I just went into the new tree wanted to look up something on a cosins tree but it has gone.
It is a shame I have not long renewed my membership

What have you done with all the trees I used to have acess to.? I have only got access to a few now.

I can only see 5 of my hotmatches aswell. The button to access the rest doesnt work.

Old tree has gone.

I will NOT be renewing my membership which is due early in August.

I will be sending a message to GR, but I don't think they give a damn.

They don't seem to be reading the boards, or taking any notice of members.

I'm sure some enterprising company/person will come up with something.

I have software with more names on it than the GR tree ~ and there are LOADS of message boards out there. I used those boards before GR existed.

Err, am I the only one still able to get into the old tree? It's still working fine for me and still updating the info on the new tree too!

I really want to keep using the old one...so will do so for as long as I can...then I think I'll be out of here. the new tree is certainly better than the previous version of the new tree but still isn't providing what I want in a tree. My main tree is the one on here, think I'll have to rethink that!

I expect a lot of people don't like the new layout because it's different, in a couple of months we'll struggle to remember the old layout and colours?

I thought the site was looking very dated, and like the new colours they are more user friendly I think.

I had an enjoyable time at the office, it was interesting, and although I don't know how many others from GR went, they did ask opinions, no idea how many liked or disliked the changes, but at least they did ask members opinions, I gave mine :-)

On looking at the beta site i noted that the old tree was still active and said so on one of my posts above 14:53

Then i got a PM from GR thanking me for spotting it and they said they would remove the link? from the new beta site, which they did,

My point is that if GR have only removed the link then my male logic tells me that the "old tree" is still somewhere on the GR system

If it just appeared for you then that indicates my theory is correct but your viewing of the old tree is just another GR error

Well............i have no idea what is going on.

I clicked on "Family Tree" earlier on this evening and "Use Old Tree" was not on the drop down menu.

I clicked on "My Tree"........and the "New Tree" appeared.

I moved around the tree for all of 30 seconds...........then low and behold, my old tree appeared.

And i still have it now!!!

I had to come off the makeover beta site whilst on the community boards i found that the bright background clashed with the text , The text could do with being more bold and some sort of tint for the background to take the edge off it as it gave me a head ache

.... have a crack at printing, Island. Try to size the names to the page......!

How strange :-S I find it very user friendly.

I went through the link from the email: utterly non-user-friendly in appearance.

"We are going to introduce a new print feature soon that will break it down and fool your printer into doing it's job. Crafty!

Until then, you should try printing from the Ancestors or Descendants views, and if that still does'nt work properly, don't fret, and wait patiently for the swanky new print feature. It shouldn't take too long."

OK, GR, I'm waiting... and waiting.....!
Perhaps it's not the printer that's been fooled.

I agree with Rose, white backgound not good. A tint would be easier on the eye.
