Single word search.

It very difficult to see, that's why some people try to seach using more than one word.

Does anybody test these pages to see what they look like ?

I can barely see it, but did mention it ages ago that if you highlight the box it appears as white text on olive green.

maggiewinchester Report 18 Dec 2012 23:23

Mine says that too, Mau, but Mr Magoo is referring to the 'Quick Search' above 'Enter Keyword'

Mauatthecoast Report 18 Dec 2012 23:30

oh right thanks Maggie I see it now (just ) :-D

maggiewinchester Report 18 Dec 2012 23:31

MR_MAGOO Report 18 Dec 2012 23:32

If you move the cursor over it like when you c & p you can see it clearly.

moonbi Report 19 Dec 2012 02:30

well it does say "Enter Keyword" singular tense

not "Enter KeywordS" plural

LadyScozz Report 19 Dec 2012 08:22

I didn't know there were ANY words there until you posted.

When I press my nose on the screen & squint, I can see a brown blobby thing. Does that read "single word search" ??

No wonder I had problems lol :-D

Porkie_Pie Report 19 Dec 2012 08:29

When i posted above about "compatibility view" this may help you to understand

Compatibility View

Sometimes the website you’re visiting doesn't look right. It shows up as a jumble of out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes. What's going on? One possible explanation: The site might have been designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer recognizes that the webpage isn't compatible, you'll see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it.

In Compatibility View, websites will be displayed as if you were viewing them in a previous version of Internet Explorer, which will often correct display problems. You don’t need to click the button for a site after you’ve done it once—the next time you visit the site, Internet Explorer 9 will automatically show it in Compatibility View. (If you ever want to go back to browsing with Internet Explorer 9 on that site, just click the Compatibility View button again

Remember the problem members had when their Emoticons disappeared?

Scozz, I thought you said that you worked the "compatibility view" thing out months ago

but no..........I wasnt able to see it otherwise, didnt know it was there.........

Kense Report 19 Dec 2012 09:33

Isn't the problem that many members have Windows XP which can't support the modern browser versions?

I think most display problems on GR seem to be experienced by XP users.
