BrianW. We men usually only allow our OH to have a side or back door key. And the gate was jammed. Are you bucking the trend in your house?

I could not undertand why Paula could not have got the ladders out and shimmied over the gate :-S :-S

............. I cooked a lovely dinner but dropped the lid of the Halogean oven in a bowl of soapy water which fused all the lights. OH arrived home early just as I was switching the electricity back on.

Stephen I forgot to say that I could not open the front door as we are in the process of having a new door and the carpenter took the handles and locks off the old one on Friday. :-D

What an eventful day :-D We had our front door lock smashed last Spring in a robbery and had to enter and leave house via back door (which was about 300 yards walk). We could not lock front door from inside and only from outside till new front door had been manufactured and fitted.

If anyone knocked at front door, we had to unlock door and speak to them. Then when they had gone, one of us had to lock the front door from outside and then walk round the back to gain access.

So I expect many of us get in these daft situations from time to time.

Hope it is a nice normal day today, Paula :-D
