The chemist has just delivered my meds and said "they are promising snow" if that's the case I'll be seeing a whole heap of white!

At the house, to the rear it's Mount Etna, otherwise known as the tiered garden which goes upwards. To the front, trees, trees, and more trees immediately opposite. Upstairs I can see the opposite side of the valley. Lovely in the summer because I can sit with my morning coffee in the sitting room and watch the squirrels leaping around the branches :-D

sighs........ I love trees. :-)

What about bushes? :-D

Only trimmed and neat ones :-D

Let's get facts straight as I see them.

1. This is a thread about seagulls inland. A fairly rare sight according to OP. And to me also incidentally. And OP asked what you can see out of your window. Everyone at first was happy to contribute nicely.
2. Island then told two of us that the word was "gulls" not "seagulls". Some gulls lived at sea, some inland.
3. I pointed out that "seagulls" and "gulls" were interchageable in my dictionary - and on Wikipedia. And in everyday language of those who are not acting President of RSPB.

So who caused the spat - me or Island? Yes it is 45F here, which is 35C. Unless some of you are much cleverer that me and know any different. ;-)

Talking of fish - have I already told you that a consultant in gynaecology at our local hospital is called Dr. Fish?

Gulls, Seagulls, who cares John, they are sometimes known as
flying vermin up here.
Its not a rare sight to see them inland as they get very little at
sea compared to what they can scavenge round the houses,
due to black bags being left outside for them to open up in search
of food and scatter the rest of the rubbish to the winds.
People should use the bins for rubbish. imo

Absolutely, DET. And it was, till Island stuck oar in. :-) Can't stand people mardy harsing about like that, so I tried to gently suggest it was correct to call them all seagullls (both sea Laridae and land Laridae) :-)

Yes Det - I can see seagulls in my garden now. I think they've got their eyes on my little shubunkins :-|

KITCHEN WINDOW BEFORE 8 AM AND AFTER 5 PM
I CAN SEE
6,400 PARAKEETS
AND IN NOWHERE EXOTIC

I can see my trellis's at the bottom of my garden, clematis looking brown and bedraggled and my passion flower is lovley and green :-)....

Also watching a few blue tits admiring my white bird box....... :-)

Out of the front windows I can see a converted barn, a dead ash tree with 5 rooks perched in it, a large puddle in which a couple of black birds are taking a bath, fields with sheep grazing, 3 oak trees & a view across the valley.

Out of my back window I can see my bird table, fully stocked earlier this morning, a pied wagtail & a robin feeding from it, 6 blue tits hanging onto fat balls suspended from my washing line, 2 wood pigeons are perched in an oak tree at the bottom of the garden & the sky is rather grey.

The only time we get Gulls flying round here are when the weather at the coast is rough & when a farmer is ploughing.

That sounds lovely Carol - swap you one Elizabethan farm house for a field of sheep? :-D
