Silly Sausage Report 17 Feb 2013 10:37

About when I get to be famous when I either win the Xfactor or BGT, I will take part in Strictly come dancing but only if doesnt interfer with me entaining the troops in Afganistan tour and I have already picked me own partner Pasha. I wont bother with I'm a celeb or dancing on ice I will refuse.
However if I am asked to appear on WDYTYA then I would greatly accept however I know how this works, you agree the researches for the programe go off and do the research and if it interesting enough they say Yes we will continue with the programe and then arrange the filming, however I am slightly worried that my FH may not be interesting enough. There are no circus acts or criminals but I could get a trip to India out of it and the could look in to my GGrandmothers marriage..

Do you think your FH is interesting enough to a warrant your own episode? :-D :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 17 Feb 2013 10:43

Good morning Hayley pet :-D ...but will you still 'speak to us' when you become famous ;-) for my family history being interesting to warrant an episode? well yes and a lot more interesting than some of the so called celebs :-)

Mau XX :-D

Silly Sausage Report 17 Feb 2013 10:47

Of course Mau Pet, I will continue with my life on here and never ignore you all.....however it would have to be kept secret when I attend meets and such so I don't want to be unindated with the Pepperrizuals I want you all to continue to treat as normal :-D :-D

Are you going to give us hint of why your FH is fabuliously interesting? :-D

JustJohn Report 17 Feb 2013 10:47

I want to see that programme, Hayley. It sounds much more interesting than last series - apart from Bishop John from Liverpool.

Perhaps when you are in India, you could find out what my grandfather was doing there for 5 years after WW1. My grandma said he was a Regimental Sergeant Major. I think he was a civilian who ran the Officer's Mess. Can you ask please? :-D

Edit. And Mau too. Wow!!!! What an interesting series is shaping up :-D :-D

Where abouts John because I will be traveling to Pashawar which is now since 1945 actually Pakinstan its on the boarder of Afganistan so I am not sure if it safe enough to travel there. So if your GGF was in Deli it would be a waste of time asking, perhaps your GF ran the Officers Mess like a RSM? :-D

Muffyxx Report 17 Feb 2013 10:54

Well I solved one of the great mysterys I needed WDYTYA for...or rather a cousin on my dad's did by going to the records office and getting the birth cert (the father of the child was a cousin...very Eastenders)...

They may find a story of interest going through my Jewish line....maybe they will be able to find out more about Abraham Braham and where he came from because I've come to a standstill at that one for now.......already

Can't think any other line will be of particular interest though

Hayley when you do become famous..........put a copyright on your own particular brand of display cushions......and please remember who suggested it ;-)

JustJohn Report 17 Feb 2013 10:57

Think it might be better if you ask if I can come along with you. It will be close to that area. Troops tended to be up in mountains when not fighting and most of his photos have Everest in distance. Grandpa climbed Everest first, without oxygen. And he lived close to the summit for a few years. Came down none worse for wear having lived off yeti meat (bit like horse). Mallory went up to try and find him, poor chap. :-( :-( :-(

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Feb 2013 11:01

Like Muffy, my Jewish line is the stumbling block - Amsterdam, Alsace, somewhere in Germany and (would you believe it? ) Bath.

Mind you, June Brown has already covered Alsace research, so may be they wouldn't be interested :-0

Mauatthecoast Report 17 Feb 2013 11:10

Like yourselves I hope I'd have the opportunity to travel and see the places my ancestors lived/live.... St.Petersburg, Australia and New Zealand. Delve into the life of Lord Byron, and into the world of dentistry ( three generations in the 19th century)

Not forgetting the farmers in Crowhurst.East Sussex, and my (some would say feckless) acting Grandparents who trod the boards. :-)

I am actually PMSL @ you John "Think it may be better if you ask if I can come along with you " ........ermmmmmmm NO as much as I would love you to but I have consider the plane seats for my minder sworry :-D

I have a photo of the fort where my Grandfather was based, it is as you say high in the moutains where all the caves are , its right by the side of the Kyber pass, which I assumed the base was there to protect the exports I will stand corrected if this is wrong and would be very interested to read if anyone has researched this further I dont mean what is available on the net already as I have looked in to all that.

Now I find all the stuff about communities fasanating so would anything about Jewish heritiage or any other culture really interesting

Muffy thanks for the headsup on the copyright on display cushions would make a wonderful little side line, duly noted

I forgot to say my son actually went to Pashawar on speical excertise never would tell me why, when he was serving in Iraq I told him, I wish you would of told me you could of done some research for me whilst there.

Mau I love your feckless Grandparents already ......or their history :-D

JustJohn Report 17 Feb 2013 12:49

Can you change your thread title before Eeyore asks? All thread titles should accurately reflect the thread, I have been informed.

Can I suggest "Dodgy Kashmiri Rellies on WDYTYA" :-D ;-)

Porkie_Pie Report 17 Feb 2013 13:02

Hayley, Your son going to Peshawar whilst in Iraq would have had something to do with the Afgan problem and the supply route (Kyber pass) which was used for supplies by the Taliban and al Qaeda

Merlin Report 17 Feb 2013 13:10

Hayley (Your Eminence) you leave the title of the thread as it is. :-D Its not often you admit to thinking. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D as for the Khyber Pass,Think of the Slang conotations that go with it. :-D :-D ;-)

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 17 Feb 2013 13:43

Thank you Merlin I will be keeping the thread title as it is, as its actually about WDYTYA and FH and of course when I become famous.... and you are correct doesnt happen often but I was thinking ;-)

Pork Pie thats why he didnt tell me why he was there, and I wont repeat how he summed up the place or that would keep abuse support busy for weeks :-D

Merlin Report 17 Feb 2013 13:49

Hayley, I tink that would come under Queens Regs,as in C.R.A.P. Abbr.meaning "Correct Regimental Arms Procedure".

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 17 Feb 2013 13:51

thats the milder version Merlin :-D

Merlin Report 17 Feb 2013 13:57

As old Ex Service, I was just being polite. There are many many other terms for that and other areas of the Near, Middle and Far East. :-D :-D :-D But if put on here the RR.ers would have a fit of the Vapours and a Field day. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I must say the period I am interested in is the 1920's I also have a photo of the local market in Pashawar from 1921 and I have I think found my Grandmother on the ship over to India , the photos came from a lady I only know as Mandy who's Uncle kept a photo album from his time in the forces through the 192030/40 and all the places he served in, this was found when he died and someone had made website with all the information from the photo album for instance it would be a pticure and Burma 1945 and so on Mandy post a thread on here about 7 yrs ago I have never seen her since and of course lost the url but really interesting site. :-D

Merlin Report 17 Feb 2013 14:11

Now that would be very interesting for you, hope you can go further with it.I had something similar about an uncle in Australia, But he died and had no family over there (So I belive) but who knows meybe he did have . :-D
