Rose,

There was a book published many years ago on how to develop a super memory.

I read it a few times it was very interesting.

Sorry , can't remember what it was called or who the author was.

I'm sure the Librarian will know. .

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

This is true! My friend told me that she has started to take a vitamin to help improve the memory, I asked her what it was called, and she replied I can't remember. :-D :-D

Stephen
I learned a way of remembering things from a book years ago, it was very good and it worked.
I've always remembered the phrases but can't for the life of me remember the codes to crack them!

What sort of books do you read Rose. I never did ask you.

Rambling

Rambling Report 27 Feb 2013 16:42

oooh Susan that's a hard one, it's easier to say what I don't read lol.
Thinks hard ( well harder than I did about what day it is anyway!).

I don't, as a rule, like 'misery' books, set in the slums or the blitz and full of poverty and angst. ;-), nor science fiction, and not historical novels particularly though I used to read those when I was younger.

I like a good murder :-) or detective stories ( used to read a lot of Ed McBain). I like a bit of non-fiction, history, travel, the occasional biography. I quite often get out books on psychic stuff, life after death etc.

I've got lots of favourites at home which get an airing, poetry, Bill Bryson, Beverley Nichols ( love those! especially those about his houses and gardens). Harry Potter, and of course Lord of the Rings which gets read at least once a year lol.

Rose, have you tried the DI Thorne books by Mark Billingham, I've found them quite good.

I also like books by Jeffrey Deaver.

A while back my doc prescribed a pill, said "this will also help your short-term memory"

Good.

But I keep forgetting to take it.

Oh right Guinevere. It just seemed a bit random with no name. Ne'er mind.

My o.h. never knows what day it is or is always asking me the date etc - I kept telling him to check the tv mag but oh no, that was too difficult. At Christmas I gave him a new clock, quite a large wall one. It shows the time, day, date and the temperature. and also the phase of the moon and what week it is! Sadly it isn't programmed to tell him where he left his specs or his keys lol
