How silly they all looked with skimpy dresses and no tights, I should think they all froze and it's not as if they looked particularly glamorous, most of them just looked tarty.

I'm not a million miles from Aintree and yesterday was quite nice weather wise. The sun itself was warm, it was the wind that made it cold. I spent most of yesterday zipping and unzipping my coat depending on whether it was blowing or not.

Btw even women from Liverpool are human beings not feathered friends :-\

Its not just " Scouse birds" race course's are vest open spaces for miles around, I have been to a few on the hottest days and they are wind traps. Races course's have different sections, starting at the cheapest nornally the picnic areas where familys go and me with our racing chairs and picnic baskets, then the bit were you can get a meal and then posh bit where the owners trainers breeders go sometimes known as the paddock both the latter area's have a dresscode , but it does make me giggle when you see groups or men and women dolled up to the nines sat on the grass on their jackets in the picnic area ....read the dresscode and dress for comfort. :-D

I have looked at some of the photos in the press & honestly feel there should be a dress code for aintree .you can look glam .without having to show your underwear not a nice look at all .i am sure a lot of the ladies !!!!!! go just to outdo each other .& look like they are ready for a night out on the town . :-S

lol Barbra.

I don't know about a night on the town, but our local racecourse has, by WA standards, a famous race each year (Bunbury Cup) and the photos of the 'ladies' after the event, staggering all over the place and minus shoes and heaven knows what else, is not a very pleasant sight :-0

What I want to know is why is it always the women who are judged and not the men. The DM doing it doesn't surprise me in the least but it's not just them.

I'm stopping now before I go completely off topic.

Ah....good for you CAT. I agree totally. I'm thinking that some of the comments are very judgemental.

Well two contrasts in the DMail yesterday some of the Ladies at Aintree, half naked and frozen (they will have pneumonia next week) and the Duchess of Cambridge.

A smart coat and hat, knee high boots and she looked lovely and was probably warm and cosy.

Not sure they would be frozen. Those Northern lasses are tough. I went out with just a blouse yesterday (a bit see thru too) but that's because of my age thing.. They did look as if they were having a laugh though. A few bevvies and they wouldn't feel the cold.
