I dont have much of an appetite anyway but just getting over sickness bug laddo kindly passed to me and I dont fancy anything at all, hubby gave me toast for breakfast and it didnt taste right and didnt fancy it at all and the worst of all I dont fancy a cuppa tea (anyone that knows me knows I drink so much of the stuff).

Now what can you suggest that will tickle my taste buds and please dont say anything with pasta as cant stand that anyway .

It is probably only you who will know what you fancy and if you don't fancy anything just make sure you keep downing water until you do.

When suffering pregnancy sickness all I wanted was lemonade. My doctor told me flat lemonade was good for settling my stomach that's why I wanted it.

Listen to your body telling you what it needs. It very likely needs a rest.

Get well soon :-)

Tomatoes on toast, bread and sugar sandwich, tinned rice pudding, bananas and custard, do anything for your tast buds?

Hope the suggestions don't get you reaching for the sick bucket though!

Get well soon,
Mayfield :-D

If you like avocado slice one up and eat it without bread. If you think about it, do you fancy sweet or savoury?

What about crisps (replace the salt you have lost) or little cheesy biscuits?

But as long as you drink plenty don't worry about not eating, you won't waste away. And your appetite will return. When I had that once I found nibbling a sharp hard apple was good.

When I was pregnant and suffering from terrible morning sickness all day.the only thing I could keep down was Lucozade. Hubby spent lots on buying bottles of the stuff. Was also told before you raise your head off the pillow in the morning eat slowly a couple of dry cream cracker biscuits. It did help .

I had a bug too a couple of weeks ago and found when i was able to eat, cream crackers again were ok and didnt come back on me.

The main thing is to keep hydrated so drink as much as you can ,water probably the best, and eat what you what &when you feel and fancy something .

Poached egg, chicken soup, mashed potato - all help to settle tummy. Hope you are better soon.

After I've suffered with an upset tum I like chicken soup or creamy rice pudding.

AnninGlos Report 25 Apr 2013 16:42

My first return to solid food is always either cream cracker and marmite (you have to fist like marmite though) or toast and marmite, then mashed potato or boiled rice.

Ginger biscuits are also good for when you are suffering with a sickly tummy.
Hope you feel better soon.

Tuc biscuits used to be the order of the day when any of mine had been ill and were recovering.
Maybe it was the salt, but the texture helped too and each one was not too big.

Keep up the fluids and get well soon.

cottage cheese, probably best with a bit of flavour, I could only manage the pineapple one when convalescent - yoghurt, scrambled egg. anything you can just pick at with a spoon. drink skimmed milk

Interesting isn't it that we all have different 'remedies' for a poor appetite after a bug?
I used to starve my 3 children and give fluids only until the worst of the symptoms had gone, then it was bland light food until things got back to normal.

NO dairy was the rule here until they were better.
