Today I saw a strange sight whilst walking the dogs in the woods. Tied to branches with coloured string were feathers and twigs...some feathers were stuck into the ground......any ideas.

A 'free spirit' 'free spiriting'?

In other words, a numbskull with too much time on their hands :-D

They probably talk to 'crystals' (ie stones) at home.

I had a pet pebble once......

But it rolled away...

Can't be anything boring like that, Carol. You are such a killjoy :-) ;-)

Nymphs and Shepherds come away,
In the Groves let's sport and play,
For this, this is Floras Holy day.

Sacred to ease and happy Love,

Your Flocks may now securely rove,
whilst you express your Jollity.

It is 'dream catchers' quite common is some countries. Must be somebody who passes that way regularly and keeps adding or a mystical ceremony ...................so fascinating. <3

Dream catchers - not really quite common in some countries.

Quite common in shops that sell stones and call them 'crystals', the same shops that sell things that look like dream catchers, with wind chimes on the bottom!!
What is that all about???
Dream catchers are an ancient Native American concept, wind chimes Chinese - so how/why do these to aspects of religions half a world apart come together??
To make money selling to idiots - that's how, is one view, another is a total disrespect of another's faith with the same outcome - to make money.
Nothing magical at all.

As I said, I had a pet pebble once.....

I reckon it's the men in white coats, seeing who takes notice of the feathers and twigs, they are looking for customers, seems like they have found a right one ;-)

Woods are wonderful, full of miniature worlds we know hardly anything about.

Trees, undergrowth, fungi and minibeasts everywhere all living their lives in harmony until we human enter their world and tread on them! :-(
