GlasgowLass -sausages yes but burghers no way, in saying that I have been known to casseroled burghers using lots of sliced onions - on that note time to fix something to eat ;-)

GlasgowLass Report 19 Jul 2013 17:07

Lost in translation?
Weegies are Glaswegians
Burghers are Edinburgh folk

Come on, Glasgow Lass,

Lets not have a Weegies v Burghers war . Born and brought in Edinburgh, I worked in Glasgow before I came South so I cannot take sides.

Let's keep the difference -like salt and sauce on fish and chips in Edinburgh and salt and vinegar on fish and chips in Glasgow.

Yes GlasgowLass,

When I started this thread, I didn't know what to expect but I am very pleased with the way it has gone and as you say no nasties.

Thanks for starting it Robert, a lot of interesting and friendly comments so far and long may that vein continue, hopefully I am not tempting fate ;-)

Hello all, cloudy and loads cooler today.

Just enjoyed a cuppa and lovely piece of shortbread :-)

Have a good day all.

Emma :-)

GlasgowLass Report 20 Jul 2013 14:05

It's definitely NOT cloudy or cooler here Golden!
I am sooooo hot and the only respite comes when a big fluffy cloud appears and covers the sun for a few minutes.

There is an open park behind my house and a large group of people arrived early this morning and set up a bouncy castle.

There are loads of families and kids , with teenagers basking in bikini tops and shorts!

GlasgowLass - retain your dignity and don't be tempted to go on the Bouncy Castle :-D :-D :-D

GL the sun is trying hard to show up here today
but had to close patio door as felt quite cold.
Enjoy the sun :-D

Emma :-)

Has been very cloudy all day here in the North East (of England) and when I look at the Golf at Muirfield and see the lovely blue sky - I wish I was there.

GlasgowLass

GlasgowLass Report 20 Jul 2013 20:59

Hi OFITG.... I managed to avoid the bouncy castle thanks.
I think that was a church group or something?

Robert. and Golden...it was really too hot today to spend any time outside.
I think Muirfield would have been sweltering.
Two older girls went off to watch the local American Football team play, whilst me, OH and youngest daughter went to an ice cream parlour!
The eldest daughter looks like she got a bit too much sun.

Hope it's a wee bit cooler tomorrow but I see the hot spell is to break this week anyway.

Don't think I could stomach another Taps Aff day!

GlasgowLass Report 21 Jul 2013 11:48

Hi Everyone!
Might be a bit cooler today but I haven't been out yet.

I very much doubt that Muirfield would allow Taps Aff!

Hopefully it's Taps Back Oan today

Anyone interested in arranging a meet in the Edinburgh/Glasgow/Fife areas? Any suggestions welcome

GlasgowLass Report 21 Jul 2013 11:58

Hi LeithLassie and welcome to our wee thread that Robert started

Sounds like a plan to me, but so far, some of us on this thread are ex Pats, living outside Scotland.

Lets see who take's up the offer but I would go!

OneFootInTheGrave

OneFootInTheGrave Report 21 Jul 2013 12:25

I recall, with much laughter, some of the sights I have seen - some people should never wear shorts or take their tops off ;-)

GlasgowLass

GlasgowLass Report 21 Jul 2013 12:43

Exactly James!
That's what I mean. LOL
So many 'Neddy Looking' lads were out in force yesterday, showing off their tattoos!
All that was missing was the obligatory bottle of Bucky.. but I guess that's where some were heading anyway!

I am not in the habit of Stereotyping.... Honest!
