mine are gone - have always managed to retrieve them by right clicking on my mouse, going into "properties" and clicking on the icon in the top left hand corner - not working this time - any advice please

This is weird!

I've lost my emoticons too........ and the compatability button has gone looking for them!

This looks all wrong with no smiley/gloomy faces.

I'll compensate by using loads of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rebooted, and it made no difference.

No compatability button.

I tried clicking the icon (as Ann said) but that did nothing.
