May be McMillan should have thought it through, but on the other hand they probably consulted a number of survivors or relatives. Local papers often run articles where one sibling has had their hair cut off to express empathy with another.

The main thing is to raise as much money as possible for the charity. TBH I'm more willing to sponsor someone doing that than people jumping out of aeroplanes. There's always that niggling feeling that the more adventurous activities are being underwritten by the charity or sponsors. Could be totally wrong, but there you go.

Sharron, people who have sponsored you won't mind where the deed is performed. The coffee morning will still go ahead. You could wrap your hairless head in a scarf then unveil it for all to see.
