Good evening all...Sorry I haven't been in touch sooner...Still have bad moments as expected but generally I am now well and keeping very busy...
When Audrey was at junior school she had to learn the poem "There are Fairies at the bottom of my garden"...During her last year with me she decided she'd like a Fairy Garden..Right at the bottom of our garden is the water garden with 2 ponds cascade and waterfall set in a biggish rockery this then feeds into the large main pond..I used the rockery and it's water effects for the Fairy Garden..It has 3 castles and a secret cave,,2 mushroom houses,,3 log houses,1 gypsy caravan a a windmill which sits over the top pond acting as a watermill..Across the ponds, cascade and waterfall is a string of coloured dragonflies and around the back and along 2 sides of the rockery I have suspended string lights shaped like little white stars...All this is solar powered..All the buildings are connected with narrow gravel roads, named after some of our grandchildren..Behind the large pond I have cleared the widest border of nearly all the plants and shrubs and have built (out of marine ply) a small estate with 2 pairs semi detached and a terrace of 4 houses with a 5 storey tower block at one end...Behind the estate is a City Farm with a couple of open stables..On the farm are chickens,,2 piglets,,1 cow,,geese,,1 lamb,,rabbits,,guinea pigs and a goat...Again the houses are solar lit and there are stars in the "sky"...Next to this I am building a hotel and cafe with car park then beside that will be the Country Park with visitor centre and tea rooms,,duck pond with ducks and swans and a battery powered railway running round the park...I'm thinking of opening it to the public with donations to my favourite charity...What with all my Genealogy research I am quite busy....Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts..It is so warming to see them and LIZ,,a big big thank you for being there for me...You are a very special person...Love....LES.

Wow, Les, you have been busy. I must get to visit cousin Joy and bring her to see you and your Fairy Garden and your lovely buildings.

I hope the postcard arrived. We got back from Tideswell earlier this evening after a very nice 11 day holiday celebrating Wakes week and enjoying Marmalade cottage (google it). The wonderful weather made everything twice as nice and seeing people we met on previous holidays there was great. Changes at some pubs meant there were wider choices of eateries and we dined out a couple of hours ago in Norwich to end the holiday.

I will give you a ring as soon as I have caught up with myself.

So glad you are keeping busy, Audrey will be proud of the way you are coping

Love, Lizxxx

Hello Les, good to see you are managing to move on. and wow! your fairy garden and the estate beyond sound wonderful, children would love to see it (and adults too I'm sure). :pve;y idea to open it for charity occasionally. Make it 'by appointment so you don't have people knocking at all times, or have special open days. Good luck with it. :-)
