Not having a pop..

just pointing out like.

C&P ,,with the DUP runs a very real risk of annihilation for the Tories in the next election quite likely this autumn.

C&P.Another election impossible.

C&P,
Callaghan was propped up by the Irish who then whipped away the ladder. The Tories won't repeat the mistake.

but then controllers dont like to be pulled up.

just admit your **I am right** statements were by a slim chance..........wrong.

Rolo, I think you'll find there's a 'B' in the word 'Numbskull' :-D :-D :-D

.Sorry to repeat myself but - .pot/kettle/black

maggiewinchester Report 12 Jun 2017 16:35

Oh -haven't read the Beano since I was 10.

I used to be in the Civil Service, but as it was in Portsmouth, our jokes about the hierarchy were less restricted in who would appreciate/understand them

I was concerned your lack of 'b' may have been a reference to numbskullz.

" a bunch of HEOs out in the sticks. "

Have you ever worked in one of those offices in the sticks Rollo?

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 12 Jun 2017 17:54

Rollo has worked everywhere, done that, worn the tee shirt, thrown it off an put another one one, haven't you worked that out yet....?

Caroline

Caroline Report 12 Jun 2017 18:11

No..because I may it seems be one of the bears with very little brains :-D :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 12 Jun 2017 18:12

Sorry Rollo....that no was in relation to which question?

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 12 Jun 2017 18:13

Oh yes, of course, Admirals and such are a 'bunch of HEO's in the sticks'.

However, before you edited the post, you said YOU worked in the Civil Service in London - hence my admission that I did.

Whereas YOUR Sir Humphrey, I can only surmise is the one from Yes, Minister, a fictional character. So much more important.

So you didn't work in the Civil Service, you were referring to a fictional programme which is MUCH more important than reality.

...and we were all meant to know that's what you were referring to....and editing it to suit your means ........
I knew there was a reason I didn't read the Beano after the age of 10!!

Rambling Report 12 Jun 2017 18:53

Totally off topic :-D :-D

What's wrong with the Beano? ;-)

One of the most erudite teachers I ever met was at his happiest when relaxing in front of the telly laughing like a drain watching Tom & Jerry :-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 12 Jun 2017 18:54

"Caroline should drop her impolite tendency to ask personal questions of no relevance.
Thank you."

How so Rollo? I asked if you'd worked in one of those offices only to see whether you actually knew what happened in those offices at any level or if it was just hearsay. You've confirmed hearsay. Quite how this is impolite is beyond my bear brain.

"I would thank IGP to stick to the common courtesy of answering for himself and not for others. Heaven knows where he went to school."

Yes, IGP - how dare you expose his edits!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rose, nothing wrong with the Beano - but most of us haven't read it for 40+ years and oblique references about characters that weren't in it when most of us were young just go whoosh! over the head :-D :-D :-D

Conservative Unionist Negotiating Team.....there's an acronym there somewhere. Any suggestions about which of our contributing posters should be part of the team? How long before this post gets RR'd.

I seriously can't believe this:

"Caroline as ever is making large assumptions from scant evidence"

PSHAW!!!
It's only 'scant evidence' as you appear to be talking applesauce.

You deride where I worked, after saying you worked for the Civil Service. As working for the Admiralty is - to you - 'in the sticks',

Then your reference to the Civil Service turns out to be a fictional series.

Edit: Then you just visited the Civil Service.

I'm sure we'd all like to know how this job is (yet again) more important than anyone else's.

Edit: Oh - and my rellies/ancestors worked in the Services for years too - the best Service - the Senior Service :-D :-D :-D
Not sat at a desk pen-pushing!
