I tried a new recipe. You fry the apples in butter and Demerara sugar then add a

tablespoon of brandy. When the apples are soft turn off the heat, add the blackberries

and allow to cool before putting in the pastry . Then bake the tart.:-D

I go to hear readers twice a week, just mornings in Year 4, but as I have the correct 'checks', they sometimes ask me to go on walks or trips with other classes.

I used to be a “reading mum” when my boys were at school. A few of us went and then

we had coffee with the staff. Quite sociable and like you we got involved in other

activities when needed. :-D :-D

To be honest you can’t really taste the brandy and of course any alcohol is burnt off ;-) ;-)

My 3 all went to the school, so I have over 40 years connection.... wearing various 'hats'.

I've been going there since before many of the staff were born :-0 :-D

Listening to readers sometimes brings it home how different things are now, when I explain words they can read, but don't understand.
