I am in a place whose cathedral houses a dead king murdered in a most foul way, this cathedral also played host to Harry Potter and friends. A little distance from the cathedral is the house of a famous Beatrix Potter character.

On a grassy plain stands an outer ring of upright stones with lintels across the top of them,. There is also an inner horseshoe consisting of five pairs of upright stones, again bridged by lintels. ??????

Pilgrim Father Report 30 Mar 2007 14:26

Yes - Stonehenge. Wiltshire The monument was built in stages, starting 1800 BC, and is beleived to have a religious significance. Here's another - although I confess I did not know this one Perched on a steep bank overlooking an astuary is a black-and-white Georgeon boathouse where a famous 20th -centuary poet wrote much of his work. Where are you now?

Dee the Bibliomaniac

Dee the Bibliomaniac Report 30 Mar 2007 15:34

I have a feeling it might be the Boathouse in Laugharne, Wales where Dylan Thomas probably wrote Under Milkwood. If so I have been there, it is a lovely area. He is one of my favourite poets Still not guessed Dorothy's, but keep wondering if the piece of music was SIlent Night, not sure why though Dee ;-))
