Is anyone going to watch this True story of a young woman sent to Australia as a convict. I cerainly will be watching as I had a rellie sent to Australia. Sue

I have also read The Floating Brothel by Sian Rees, which is an excellent book if anyone wants to know more about the ship and its journey ;-))

Dee - I read the Lesley Pearce book too it was brilliant. Could see some similarities in the programme, am on a night shift tonight so will have to tape it for later in the week. Julie

I thought it was god viewing. My husbands GGGGGrandfather went on a similar journey in 1803 to Sorrento which is just round the coast from where Mary Bryant went. After being there for a year and finding the land unworkable their governor David Collins asked if they could relocate to Van Diemens land and founded Hobart. In 1813 he was pardoned and given land which he worked until he died in 1833 aged 70. Linda
