Hi gang - I'm Kim, I'm 38 and I'm a Somerset girlie...originally from Shepton Mallet (Babycham land!) and now near Bath. I'm have been married to Alan (41 next month) for 9 years and we have a wonderful son called Rhys who is 7 and currently has chickenpox! I'm work very part-time at the Inland Revenue (boo!) in Bath and spend the rest of my time running around after Rhys and trying to find members of my family tree! Both boys (ok - and me) are Yeovil Town FC fans (Alan originating from that area) although I tend to leave the watching to them these days (male bonding and all that!) And I love David Bowie!! And we have a hamster called Elephant!!!!! Kim x

its surprising just how many people on this thread have children with learning disabilities, my son now 28 attended special schools, we dont know if it has anything to do with him being 2 months premature or not, he has never been out of work and has now got himself a well paid job, saved up and bought himself scooter, been to tennerife on his own and I have to ask him how to do things on his computer lol. jenny x

Hello i'm David 67 going on 27 most of the time, born in Kenilworth Warwickshire, moved across country with father changing farms, ended up just west of Peterbourgh, Did my bit for Queen and country in The Grenadier Guards, then worked until retiring 2002 on the land, i live in a village off the A1 half way between Stamford and Grantham. My wife died of lung cancer just under 2years ago, I have two dogs and a cat, Frank, Bruno and Chloe with whome i have frequent conversations, and i have never yet lost an argument. I have had this computer for about twelve months and i always loose the argument with it as it has a mind of it's own. I have found you people on her unbelievably kind, compassionate, friendly and helpful thankyou!!. I have a Son 43 and a Daughter 41 two grandchildren 16 year old Girl the Apple of my eye 14 boy a budding Heavy Metal player did first gig on Saturday. For my sins i am a Posh (P/boro United) supporter, and of course researching family history

Hi Folks, I'm Beverley but prefer Bev, married for the second time (sucker for punishment) I have 3 boys aged 22, 20 and 14 3 step children aged 18, 17 and 16 and 2 step grand children aged 1 and a few months, love em to bits, only got 2 sons living at home the eldest and the youngest, I work for the goverment in the rural payments agency...good cushy job my oldest also works with me, so we car share... love going to Spain for some winter sun-shine...going in 4 weeks and counting the days...sun, sea and most important Sangria!!!! We sound like a meeting of AA (not that I have been to one you understand? Hi I am Ann Knight, maiden name Allen. I am 64 and have been with Tony for 48 years, married for 44. We have two children, Lynda and Stephen, four grandsons (should have been 5 but little Toby was 'born asleep' in October 2000), and one Grandaughter who at two years and three months is the youngest. Son and family live in Milton Keynes, daughter near Winchester and us in Gloucestershire. I was born and grew up in Fareham Hampshire, went to school in Purbrook, Tony was born in Totnes and grew up in Buckfastleigh S Devon. Hobbies are Family History, gardening, walking, card making and taking holidays. I am a retired MOD Civil servant (RAF) and Tony is a retired R. Xerox employee, formerley in RN. I was born in Resolven, South Wales in 1924 which, (for those mathematically challenged) makes me 80. My parents took me to London when I was two so I grew up with a North London accent. Most people call me Jim but GN insists on calling me by my first name which is Leonard so I use it on the boards. I too feature in the photo album. Len

Joy, thats the hope !! it'd be a very long thread. Have read every post with interest, nice to see so many people joining in, and not just the regular posters on the general board. Malcolm - yes the concrete cows are still here. hate the damn things !! The butt of a million jokes. I won't have a word said about the roundabouts though - the traffic flows here really well, I'd take a grid road system with roundabouts over most town centres with one way systems anyday !

Hi Everyone, my name is Melanie and I will be 40 on November 23rd. Have a fiance, Martin who has just finished university and got a job as a social worker. Live with my two cats, Sacha and Onyx in Coventry but born in Manchester. Work for a disability rights organisation as Clerical/Information worker and recently began running courses on disability equality and the Disability Discrimination Act for work, as I am a qualified trainer. Disabled myself from birth but very independent and enjoy life, with the support of an enabler (I don't like the term carer) who I employ through a scheme called Direct Payments.
