My auntie went through a similar thing and was offered a reversal but had got used to "the bag"by that time and couldn't bear the thought of another operation. She now manages perfectly well with it at all times. I'm sure she'll be fine but praying for you all. Love Pam x

I`ve just read through all the thoughts and prayers, that you kind people have expressed. I write this thank you note, feeling very humble, and with a lump in my throat. I will print off these prayers, and give them to my mum, when she leaves hospital, which I`m sure will give her the strength to see it through, and to realise what a lovely bunch of people you all are. Many, Many, thanks to you all, Barry xxxx

Baz, my heart goes out to you. I know exactly how you feel as the same thing happened to my mum 2 years ago. She was in ITU on a ventilator for 2 weeks and when they took her off she didnt have a clue what had happened. We were all there for her and she amazed the docs by getting out of hospital in 7 weeks. The medical staff are marvelous these days and are so dedicated. My thoughts are with all your family Sheila x

Much love to your mum - She is probably feeling that she has lost her dignity. But your love for her is the greatest love she could ever have. Bless you

Baz, Your Mother, you and your family are in my prayers. My Mother also had to have a bag for approx a year. My grandson, Matt, is 7 and a half years old and he has had a bag since he was 2 days old. He plays football and other sports. When he was 2 years old. The hospital that he was born in operated and performed a reversal but it was unsuccesful and we nearly lost him. Great Ormond Street Hospital performed an emergency operation to resite the bag. Thankfully he made a speedy recovery. But, all through his pain he still remained a bright little love. He is due to go into Great Ormond Street Hospital at the begining of July for a reversal. Take care and God Bless Kathy

Baz, I'll remember your mum in my prayers. I remember when I was in nursing an elderly lady, who'd just got a colostomy bag , telling another, "If the Queen Mother can lead a full and happy life with a bag fitted, then so can I" I'm sure with your love and support your mum will come to terms and lead a full and happy life too. Take care Christine
