I would like to thank you all for the help I was given in searching for my family ,last year .
I have received my adoption files yesterday and found out i have two brothers and two sisters , and their names. this has made me extremely happy .and sad at the same time. reading it was so surreal .

Hopefully now social services , may be able to find more information and we can be reunited

keeping my fingers crossed.

if there is any one who would be able to help or know anything about how to search bernardos records as three of my siblings were taken there and one remained with my birth mother.

many many thanks again for all your help
Beth

Beth,

If you alter the title of this to say 'new information' or 'new help needed about banardo's files' or 'updated - adoption file now received' then people who think you have probably received all the help needed will reread the post.

Do you want help for the siblings, or do you want to wait for more information from social services?
Have you looked to see if the siblings are in anyone's tree on genes, just as a start?

If you know the names of your siblings who were put into Barnardos you can apply to them for info.

They make a charge though and take a bit of time to get back to you. Google for their website

Thanks both ,

I did take a quick look on Barnados but thought only information on deceased relatives were accessable. , think i will wait a few weeks if nothing back from Social services soon , will apply for information.

i will also try looking on others trees , good idea.

Which of your siblings remained with your mother? It's just it would mean they probably kept their birth name. If your other siblings were placed with Barnardos in 1959 then it is unlikely their christian names were changed as they would have been between the ages of 2 & 7.

Have you registered with the adoption contact register - your siblings may have registered?

Social services led you to believe that there was no adoption file until you pushed them, so don't wait too long before checking out other avenues.

I would like to say a big thank you to every one who has helped me search for my family .

Sadly my birth mum has passed away ........... but I have been contacted by a Tracing agent who found my details on Genes reunited , without this site this would not be possible .

3 out of 4 siblings have been found , and I am in the process of making contact with my big sis.

Thank you again for all the help and information everyone has given me

I will be adding the tracing agents details to this site , if anyone needs help in finding lost relatives .

Beth xx

No one of the name Marcia Tibbett listed anywhere on Ancestry. Are you sure the surname isn't Tuckett?

New help required -Maria Annette Shaw

Looking for my sister Maria Annette Shaw born 1956 /57 in devon ,she may have changed her surname to Tibbetts.

Also looking for any relatives of Marcia Tibbetts , who may have known about Maria.
Marcia was originally from the Devon Area

If you haven't already done so, you should order Maria's birth certificate- if she was officially adopted it will be noted on the certificate.

As Rose says, there is no record of a Marcia Tibbetts on ancestry, and a google search only seems to bring up people of this name in the US.
