have you checked out the address from the marriage in 1968 to see who else lived there?

As thebirth was during wartime it's possible that her mother was evacuated, as many pregnant women were or that she was in the forces/on war work away from her home. In either case, the child could have been born anywhere so son't rule out any possibilities.

havnt you any relatives on your fathers side that can give you any further details something that seems unimportant can shed lots of light .........Madeline may have not been born in England,,,,her birth isnt registered in Scotland.......

should still get image from free births and marriages

just waiting for social worker to get in touch before i get them. i had them before, pretty much all the info i know, and is in above posts. don't think i'm gonna find her birth :-(

John Watson could even have been a stepfather?

No record for address, father was a tube worker (presume steel, not underground)

hi alan dont know if this is what you are looking for , but i have found a madeline theresa watson born 1944 in northumberland, possible she had a sister hilary - there mother was a hall, on one site it is down as madeline j watson hope this is of some use

Has anyone of you thought that whoever transcribed the birth has put a J instead of a aT for the birth in 1944 in Northumberland.

It is a very big possiblity...
