Alison, the recent ER are not online. Valerie has approached the Ask a Librarian for Jeffrey’s entry.
Unless they can only be accessed by WA residents - that’s where Valerie lives - there’s no harm sending an email yourself about June’s.

As a point of etiquette & to protect people’s privacy, we don’t post personal info about living people on these open boards. Perhaps you could edit your post to remove the full address & the phone number?

Assuming Valerie is given Jeffrey’s latest address on the ER, she’ll send it to you by PM.

Oh dear, that's a bad mistake. Apologies and the details are deleted.
Must be the heatwave here!
.....However, it is already online?

You mean your post? Possibly an archived version. However, you didn't give the person's first names, so that should be OK ;-)

The latest ER are NOT on line. You could try asking the Librarian Service to check the first names of the person you think you've found. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Its a completely free service.

Thanks to both of you.
I have asked on a granny's forum here about the best way to go, found someone here who had had the same problem - and will send each a letter to WA with my email address...
Hopefully - Alison

As they are both in their 80’s, include some sort of phrase about showing the letter to a younger family member. Otherwise they may think it’s a scam!

Yes, that's a thought. However, Jeffrey visited my mother in the 1980s and I met him again briefly, so he should certainly know who I am.

But I am hoping they will know something of how they came to be where they are, and about their parents' story. Our mother really didn't tell us very much, although she was exchanging letters with their mother.

My sister is in the process of looking through old papers which may have more detail or even existing letters from Australia.... she never met them, as she wasn't born when they left!

Thanks again, Alison

PS - I wish I had started this years ago now, but I have mostly been following up other family emigrants who left for various other countries in all directions around 1900....

Cheers! Thanks to all.

I have just had an email from Evan Eldridge, son of Jeffrey. He says Jeffrey although still alive is unable to answer, but June his sister would like my address to write!

I will send my a/d today and hope to get a letter from her. I really want to know how the family got on when they arrived in WA and what has happened since.

Wow! Alison
