Above named was my late father,d,o,b, early 1900s' in Sunderland co; Durham,.Died late 1950s' He had a sister [and other siblings] who lived in Pallion Sunderland and she had triplets [boy] Prior to death he lived in Pennywell Sunderland.All help appreciated to find any relatives from this side of the family so i can add them to family tree, Thankyou :-(

Have you looked for his birth on freebmd?

If you hav'nt you will notice there a quite a few George Shotton's born early 1900s in that area so it is virtually impossible to try to help without more info

Get a copy of the following cert, for factual info about him

Marriages Mar 1941 (>99%)

Maddison Alice Shotton Sunderland 10a 1470
Shotton George Maddison Sunderland 10a 1470

Have you traced all the other children born to the above couple from 1939 onwards?

In case anyone thinks I've lost the plot..........Hilary's registered name was Hilda, which, incidentally, would fit nicely with the family posted above.
However, I would still recommend getting the marriage cert............for verification

Thankyou so much for your help,and yes,your information is correct.With regards to my name, Hilda is my given name but i was always addressed as Hilary so,i use the latter on my facebook page..I am now beoming more familiar with this site and have managed to find some info re; other relatives' However,I appreciate your help and may require further assistance in the future' Regards' Hilary' :-)

I have a Mary Lawson nee reed who married a Shotton in the 1850s Sunderland.....I don't have my tree on me at the moment but am sure someone could look it up.....she was my Greatx3 grandmother. I do believe she also had children by the Shotton fellah....I wonder if there is a link between yours and mine....one never knows :-)

September quarter 1851

Gilbert Shotton married Mary Lawson......her maiden name was Reed.....I would be interested if there was a connection. Gilbert was a widow with children.
