Elvina Evon May Gore does it for me.

Suggestion..........
Pat may have her memory "helped" by the names of the parents on the cert???

My friends mother celebrated her birthday on 4th sept every year, upon getting her birth cert to get her pension then found out she was actually born on 4th of APRIL.
But still has to celebrate her birthday in sept(now in her 80s}as thats what she has always done!
So she has an official birthday in April too.

Edit ,,Evon,,Yvonne,,Back then Yvonne was a very MODERN name and maybe no one knew how to spell it,being more of a French name too.

Ann-Marie Report 30 May 2009 11:57

I have also ordered Sanleys first marriage cert, and Penelope's birth cert to see where that leads me!!

I agree Viv- Yvonne did exist just called Elvina Evone may gore
Thanks

FannyByGaslight Report 30 May 2009 12:04

And one other thing that does it for me

She used the SECOND name of Evon/Yvonne just as all the others did.

My name is not really spelt Vivienne, its Vivian, but being a female with a male spelling was a pain in wales as Vivian is a boys name here,so I changed the spelling when I was 12....

And Evon does sound very much like Evan..

FannyByGaslight Report 30 May 2009 12:09

Gray crossed out could mean that the reg misheard the name May?

Just as on mine I have the name "James" crossed out and Jane underneath

LOL ,my father has a lot to answer for in giving me, a GIRL , a MALE spelling!!

Sounds good to me too!

Maybe Patricia was not so sure of her mothers dob as she appears to be a liitle vague about other details - even reluctant to disclose too much.

Thanks for the update..............eagerly awaiting the rest of it!

Hey guys-

Yvonnes death cert had DOB info, I've just had a random thought? Could Yvonne have been adopted? Is there anyway I can rule this out?

Ok so certs came:

EMILY GREAVLEY JONES 24 YRS

STANS DAD: GEORGE FREDERICK GREENHALGH (DECEASED) BOOK KEPER

there is other info but it is really hard to make out

BIRTH

Dad Stanley Edward Greenhalgh

Mum Emily gresley greenhalgh formerly jones

Dads profession (something) the musieseum??

right at the end it says 'adopted' harold hughes superintendent regisitrar

Hi Annie,

Will PM you so you can send me the images.

Great that the marriage is for the correct Stanley and that Penelope is their child.

I wonder if the GRO messed up? I thought they wouldn't issue a birth cert. of an adoptee.

It would seem that they did mess up Rose.

That was me deleted as I wasnt happy with what I had written on adoption, thought it was a little sensitive for here,so pmd annie instead.

Was a death found for Emily ?
I will have to give in now and get my puter problem with scrolling and other stuff looked at tommorow, its driving me NUTS with the kangaroo leaps on the scroll.
The thread keeps shooting off the screen.
