Think betty was born out of wedlock I seem to remember. Not certain if Thomas was dad or not.
It's a difficult one. I'm not sure I'll ever get to the bottom of it...Thomas or Ann...but I keep going back to it. :-)

Shirley

Shirley Report 2 Jun 2015 20:58

Yes..Thomas had second marriage to Agnes. But think then it was 1881 when he was living over towards Pendle. I think it was with one of his sons. But he actually died in Burnley where he was living with another of his sons. Think Agnes had recently died but not sure.

Shirley

Shirley Report 2 Jun 2015 21:00

Just checked...Agnes died 1881 so perhaps that's why he went to live with either son or daughter Jane.

Kicking myself...........forgot to tick the 'phonetic surname search'. :-(

Jacqueline

Jacqueline Report 3 Jun 2015 09:31

As her father's name was not recorded, and he was 'deceased', you will probably have to accept that she didn't know who he was.

Immanuel records on line start at 1837.

S,o to get any further with this, you'd need to visit the Records Office in Preston. Or contact them, and ask whether they carry out searches.
