Find Ancestors

Help please if possible, in 1935 he did training on the HMS Worchester Greenhithe Kent. I have found a birth in 1915 Dartford Kent.Found no marriage for him and no death. I am wondering if he lost his life during the War. Is there a death register for Merchant Navy sailors. Many thanks

Thank you Kath, so obviously no marriage and no death for him. Re his sister Audrey, I see she is down as Legg in 1939, that’s so strange because I had found her marriage in 1939 to a David D Rose , found a David D Rose died Dartford off hand it was in Dartford 1956 I think ,then I found a marriage for a Audrey J Rose married a Legg in 1957. She couldn’t have been with her husband long, obviously no divorce so she married after husband died. Oh Wow

The reason of wanting to find info on Robert Patrick Jennings , I know someone who is looking for his family to give them a box with a plaque on it , given to him in 1935 from the time he was a cadet on board the Worchester and would like to give it to them. She doesn’t know the family at all but I believe her father who use to live in Dartford had it for for some reason. I have found a Keith W Rose b. 1939 and living in Dartford I see his mother down as Fennings but wondering if it should be Jennings.

Many thanks Safc. Well it looks like him, same birth date, Looks like he could have emigrated, Mary Jennings must be his wife. Now he went in 1956 , thats the year his father died , I wonder if he had lived with him since birth, seeing that his mother had the name Legg in 1939, she married a Legg in 1957. All coming together now, re the box I mentioned in the post above, when he emigrated he gave the box away because didn’t want to take it to Canada with him.

Thanks safc for finding the marriage, obviously being a Merchant Navy man he met her in Liverpool.

Mary is Joseph's sister.

Think Joseph came back in 1957. He had married Sheila A Giblin in 1951.

It does not give a name for any husband, but claims she died on 22nd October 2011 in Pickering Ontario.

Joseph Arnaud is claimed on the same tree to have died about 2004 in Brantford Ontario.

I think you can discount the Keith W Rose who you found in Dartford as there is a marriage for his 'probable' parents in 1930 and the name 'was' Fennings.!

Not posting here, in case this isn't the right person, as it shows address (same address 1995-2002) and phone number.


Pickering and Brantford, suggested above as places where Mary and Joseph Arnaud died, are both districts of Toronto.

Thankyou for the findings Canada and US. So the 1939 register is not actually the original, if it states Audrey J as being Legg but in fact she was really Audrey J Jennings, which gave me the impression she and her husband were seperated and I couldn’t understand why she married in Dec that year and also had a child, although his mothers mm as Fennings but a post above said discount it because his parents married in 1930 and a name of Fennings. Feeling confused.
