Hi Louise Could you look for Bertha Melinda Parr b Weston, somerset either 1854 or 1858 ( varies on census and death cert) If possible a marriage between 1871 census and dec 1873 to a William Price (either in weston or Bristol) or to William Perry after 1881 census to 1883 (Thinkk she was calling herself Parr at that time) Anything you could find would be wonderful. Thanks Nicky

Hi Anne, Sadly, birth registrations only began from Sep 1837 so your Joseph was born a wee bit too early to be included in the index. :O( Sorry I couldn't help, Louise :O)

Hi Isobel, Re: Jane Wilson died 2/9/1946 aged 59 can you tell me her parents names she was married to Adam Fordyce in Crawford Lanarkshire. I'm afraid this kind of information isn't available from the BDM indexes. The best I could do for you would be to try and locate the birth index for Jane so you can order her birth cert and get her parents that way. The later birth indexes also give mother's maiden name but not until the third quarter of 1911 onwards. Sorry I couldn't help, Louise :O)

Hi Nicola, I've had no success at all I'm afraid :O( But for info, I searched births for all quarters between 1854 and 1858 for Bertha and found precisely none! I then searched marriages between 1871-1873 and 1881-1883 with no success. I did get excited when I found a marriage ref for a Bessie PARR in Bristol thinking maybe she might have been known as Bessie, but sadly, no matching entry for William PERRY :O( Sorry! Louise :O)

Hi Louise, please can you help me find wife of John Steele (Jane) Both born Staffordshire. Marriage 1859 or 1860. Found John on marriage 1859 (Wolstanton) but three people showing not four. Same thing 1860 Newcastle-underLyme. Many thanks

Squiggles Report 28 Dec 2005 01:43

Hi Maureen, :O) I'm afraid I have the same problem as you, without a surname for Jane, I can't cross ref the marriages. FreeBMD shows four names for the Jun 1860 Newcastle L marriage however, 2 brides and two grooms, and neither bride is a Jane. So that leaves your Dec 1859 marriage in Wolstanton as the most likely, but without a surname for the spouse, I can't double check it. Sadly, 1837online doesn't allow searches by district/volume/page number etc, solely by names:O( Louise

Hi Jane, I'm able to search from the beginning of 2002 to the end of 2003 for you, and there are no death records for either EVANS I'm afraid, using the years of birth provided. Sorry I couldn't help :O( Louise

Hi Sue, Birth - Mar 1918 - PANNELL Rosie - Mother's Maiden: PANNELL - Windsor 2c 672 There were no marriages for an Amelia Rose PANNELL in the four complete years I checked between 1894-1897 inclusive. P.S. for Sue! I'm obviously not awake yet as although I searched for the marriages, I chose the years they were likely to have been born, not married, doh!! I'll try 1916-1919 for you, oops! Will report back! ;O) Louise
