Hi Kelly, :O) Thanks for providing such great info! Sadly, I only found two possibles and the ages at death don't fit, but here they are anyway: Dec 1947 - Elizabeth H. HALLAM - aged 80 - Nottingham 3c 288 Dec 1949 - Elizabeth HALLAM - aged 78 - Nottingham 3c 379 There were no deaths in the Basford district for this name. Take care, Louise

Hi Heather, I found one possible marriage for you in 1847 as follows, but sadly, there were no Esther WOOD marriages in that quarter and district. :O( Dec 1847 - Thomas HOWARD - Kings N. 13 539 (http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/REG/sts.htm reliably informs me that Kings Norton was a district in Staffs, but a clearer idea of the area might help!) Let me know if you want me to try another year. Take care, Louise

Hi Louise How very kind of you - thank you . I am looking for the Birth of: Ethel Maud(e) VAUSE no idea place of birth, however her year of birth ( calculated from her marriage in 1903 ) would be abt 1877. I have tried the census details have had no luck....... I have her fathers name and occupation but beginning to think this is a red herring. Many thanks & much happiness Debi

Hi George on page 5, Births Dec 1865 - Louisa PALMER - Dudley 6c 151 Sep 1879 - Louis PALMER - Dudley 6c 125 Sadly, there were no deaths for Louisa between 1877 and 1878. Could she have been working away in service I wonder? In those days it wasnt unusual for 12 year olds to be domestic servants. Just thought it was a more cheerful thought than an untimely death! Take care, Louise

Hi Awdrey on page 5, Think I have him! I checked deaths between 1858-1862 inclusive and found one as follows: Dec 1860 - TOGHILL George - Bath 5c 463 As for Moses, I'm afraid he was born too early to be included on the Index, as births were only registered by law from Sep 1837. Parents names were never included on birth indexes but births from Sep 1911 onwards include the mother's maiden name. Hope this helps! Take care, Louise

Jeanette Report 28 Dec 2005 19:46

Oh thank you!! I am looking for the deaths of my grandfather and aunt to get to the root of a pressing genetic medical issue. However I have little information, as only from 1901 census: Edward Locke b1965/6 Westbourne, WSussex. 1901 census Plumstead Kent (London). Died suddenly when my father was 7, so circa 1915/16. Ivy Locke b 1900 Plumstead Kent (London). 1901 census Plumstead Kent (Woolwich London). Died young so I will guess 1912+ and cross all my digits. I hope I have done this properly as I am new to it all. So grateful for any help. Jeanette Locke Thomson

Hi Kelly on page 5, Dec 1845 - Joseph DRAYTON - Glandford Brigg 14 649 Dec 1845 - Caroline BROWN - Glanf'd Brigg 14 647 ?!!?! Strange that the district and page numbers are different? and another I noticed on my way through which may be linked? Jun 1845 - William DRAYTON - Glanford B. 14 575 By the way Kelly, the name DRAYTON leapt out as me as on a friend's tree that I'm researching for him, he has a Kate Elizabeth DRAYTON born 4/4/1875 in Church Town, Belton, Lincs who married a Joseph CHAFER, born 1871 in Alkborough (also Glanford B.) If any of these names crop up in your own research, please do give me a shout!! Kate was the daughter of Louisa DRAYTON born c1844 in Lincs (Burringham or West Butterick?) and the father was unlisted on Kate's birth cert. Hope the above is of help! Take care, Louise :O)

Hi Jeanette on page 6, I searched 1915 and 1916 deaths for Edward and the only two that are remotely close are as follows (I assume you meant he was born 1865/6 rather than 1965/6 as you were asking me to check deaths in 1915/6?) Jun 1916 - Edward LOCKE - aged 46 - Fareham 2b 735 Dec 1916 - Edward LOCKE - aged 47 - Gloucester 6a 397 I searched between 1912 and 1915 inclusive for Ivy and the only death for an Ivy is as follows: Dec 1915 - Ivy LOCKE - aged 2 - Ringwood 2b 944 Hope this helps and take care, Louise :O)
