Hello I hope you can help me. Im looking for the marriage of my Gt Uncle Henry John Woolner.(often spelt WOOLMER) He would have married between 1925 and 1927 in the Hampstead area of London. I believe that the brides name was Annie, but then i'm not 100 percent about that. The surname Woolner / Woolmer is pretty rare so there wont be too much data to look through. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks, David Woolner

Hi Helen on page 7, I couldn't complete all your searches immediately as I've had to impose a limit (please see my opening message) but for now: Midsomer Norton falls into the Clutton registration district. I searched all qtrs of 1891-1892 and there were no birth refs for a Frank PAUL for this district. I also searched for Albert in all qtrs 1892-1893 and found just one possible: Jun 1892 - Albert PAUL - Cardiff 11a 414 Take care, Louise

hi Louise, I wonder if you could find the actual birth of:- Peter Wallace Tapsfield Rideout, he died in 1963 - 65? and he was aged about 40 - 43 that would make his birth about 1921 - 24. I believe he was born in Southampton, later lived in North Baddesley. He had siblings called Jack/John, Stanley, May, Joan, I do not know of any more. Hope this is enough information. Thank you Margaret.

Squiggles Report 29 Dec 2005 13:22

Hi Heather in Oz (page 7) Still no success I'm afraid in 1848. There was just one marriage ref for a Thomas HOWARD that may have been in Staffs (Basford) but if its the Staffordshire Basford, then the reg district should be Cheadle. Maybe there's a Basford district elsewhere. I searched marriages for Esther WOOD in 1848 too and there were none in Staffs districts (I checked every one as geography isn't my strong point lol!) Shall we try another year or two lol? If you'd like me to search more years, please can you include all the details in your next post to save me wading back through the thread - its getting a bit unwieldly now!! Take care, Louise

Hi Beryl (Its Only Me) on page 7, I checked all quarters of 1971 for you and could find no record of a birth for either Sharon COLLSON or Sharon COULSON. Let me know if you'd like me to try different spellings, COLSON, COULSTON, etc. Please can you include the details again in any new request to save me trawling back through this very long thread!! Cheers, Louise :O)

Hello again Steve from page 8 (amongst others ;O) ) 1932 Birth not Plymouth, but could the Croydon ref be a match?? Dec 1932 - ANSTIS Roy G. G. - MINERS - Croydon 2a 403 (BUT!! The page number 403 has been crossed out and a scribbled note added alongside that says 'see D/42'. I don't understand what it means but maybe you do?? There were no further notes on the page at all) Sep 1940 - ANSTIS William G. E. - BARNES - Croydon 2a 1419 You've reached your limit for this search but can you re-post your other requests limiting them to a total of 2 years worth of searches (or 8 qtrs overall) per request and more details about the marriage of the parents you mentioned? Ooooh. new rellies eh? Always exciting but a little bit scary too! Hope you forge some new great relationships with them :O) Take care, Louise

Steve

Steve Report 29 Dec 2005 15:12

Thanks Louise. It is all the more exciting and cue nervous pauses later on. The marriage was in Croydon in 1937 i believe. And i was informed by 2 sources my great grandfather died in a bycycle accident in the late 70's or thereabouts. Poor chap. It's a pity that the relatives i am in contact with now are in their 60's/70's. A family mystery and divide that has existed since 1931 has been bashed. I do hope to glean what details of each indivdual i can find. Steve
