Yes, it's a chamois.
It isn't the posh version here, Steve Wright (in the aff-ter-nooon) on radio two used to say "I like a nice shamoyze".
Is Steve Wright still on R2? He used to put very funny twists to lots of words and phrases.

I thought posh people pronounced it "Sham-waah". Well we do round here LOL

I was just reminded of the time when my children were still at home.

I was wondering why they were so quiet, went to investigate ,and found them filling in their Christmas cards,sitting on the rug underneath the table was our soft,loving Lurcher,having his wet nose used to wet the gum on the envelopes,so proud to be able to help.

Would you have thought of that?
