If, and only IF, the most recent RR'er is an overnight user of the site, then they may have missed the one Joy's highlighted which was started at 0937 today, 3rd Jan.

Nope, my post was 2 Jan 2012 21:57 ;-)

Perhaps I'll give a nudge to a useful sites thread, see if that gets reported ;-) there again, maybe it will sign me out before .....

Kense Report 3 Jan 2012 14:41

It looks like BM's thread about his new site has gone. Not surprising really but I'm sorry his enterprise has been curtailed.

Joy just being curious but....

how did you get your link on this thread to show my last post first which is why
+++DetEcTive+++ thought that it was started at 09-37 today???

JAE4 Report 3 Jan 2012 15:11

I was zapped for mentioning the A word how pathetic . I received a warning. I wonder if all of the other members that responded received warnings too !!
I am seriously thinking of not renewing membership only a couple of days to go.

Just had a message from GR to say one of my recent postings has been deleted.

Any ideas as to which one this might be as I am at a loss to work out which one.

MargaretM Report 3 Jan 2012 15:46

BM123's posts that had the address for his new website were all deleted. The thread makes no sense now with his posts gone.

Elizabeth2469049 Report 3 Jan 2012 17:06

BMW123's post - I added a comment that I couldn't make the hyperlink work (just being curious). I see it has now disappeared from My Threads so presumably it has been deleted by GR or BMW has done it himself.

Maureen R Report 3 Jan 2012 17:06

I had a message from GR telling me that I'd breached the guidelines and T&Cs but not saying in which post nor in what way, so I don't know what to avoid in the future as mine was a fairly long post about some problems I'd had with Ancestry and wondering whether anyone else had experienced the same problems. I certainly wasn't recommending that anyone use that site!

Kay???? Report 3 Jan 2012 17:09

GR set guidelines in place along with their t&c,then it should be down to them to monitor and act, not let members report purely on their own opinion its not up to them to act for GR or on their behalf as to what can and cant be posted by other members.

jax Report 3 Jan 2012 17:23

Well I never... I dont think I will bother to renew in a couple of weeks if this is going to happen.

If I have had post a reported it has only been through spite and never understood why

Maybe you are now no longer allowed to make any comments about the use of the GR records? I am speaking from experience not hearsay

Email recieved this morning

Dear jax You recently added a message board response using your Genes Reunited membership. It has been brought to our attention that the nature of this posting breaches the terms and conditions of our website and the item has now been removed from Genes Reunited. You will already be aware that you have previously been reported to us for your postings on our website. Please be advised that this email now serves as a warning as we consider the report to be in breach of our Message Board guidelines and our Terms and Conditions. Should you receive 3 warnings in total we will permanently remove your profile from Genes Reunited. We thank you in anticipation of your co-operation and adherance to the terms of your Genes Reunited membership. Kind Regards, Genes Reunited Support Team

For GR to send those messages out without explaining what it is about, is just not on.

They really do seem to act without thinking things through.

I think there should be a flood of emails to The Team from disgruntled members.

MargaretM Report 3 Jan 2012 17:53

Dear jax, I just can't believe the email that you received from GR! Don't they know that you're one of the most valued researchers on this site?

I'm very curious as to what you said that was so bad but I can't ask you to repeat it because that would be your 3rd. strike and you'd be out.

I'm having great doubts about the management of this site and beginning to wonder whether I should stay.

Another member got a warning email from GR

We have always discussed problems and subscriptions on A*

GR are in grave danger of losing members over this

Joy

Joy Report 3 Jan 2012 19:01

I am utterly appalled at the email sent to jax - the content, grammar and spelling.

Seriously, obviously the team to whom posts are reported is just not reading the reports properly.
And I am appalled.

What do the letters RR stand for?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 3 Jan 2012 19:58

If it wasn't for the other sites then GR boards wouldn't be so good! So it's in their interests that we mention them.

GR's attitude is totally unacceptable.

(So do I get reported for this!) :-P

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Jan 2012 20:03

JenE - RR is shorthand for Request Review :-)
