Sylvia,

Just wondering what search results you get when you google Genes. Do you see the Newspaper Archive?

As the A ad that I see is for A.com.

I would just like to say GR is a wonderful place to search for your family as long as it is Smith,Jones,Bishop,Taylor ect nothing unusual or you will be looking forever :-D

Must be time for another warning ;-)

Why didnt GR put a block bog standard message on the boards as new information about what it will now allow and remove those that didnt meet requirements and let it go at that.

Its no good telling just a few with a damming email, as it applies to everyone in that case now.

Kay, because that would make too much sense.

I responded to the first email from GR and asked to be told how I'd transgressed so that I could avoid doing the same again. I've now had a reply saying:
We won't discuss individual postings, but please be assured that our moderation team follow strict guidelines and individually examine each report that is made to them.

A posting is only removed from the site if it breaches our message board guidelines. Here's a link to those guidelines for your reference:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/content.page/message_board_guidelines

It wouldn't be in our interest to remove postings unnecessarily nor to accept postings which breach our guidelines, and we follow a tight moderation policy to ensure that a consistent approach is adopted.

.

:-( I have responded to say that I'm not happy with their answer and giving my reasons - wanting to stay within their guidelines etc., pointing out how useful the boards are and that this is the only site with such a wonderful facility.
Actually I think I've worked out what upset them about my posting but as I wasn't given the opportunity to correct it myself before the post was removed I can't go back to check what I said.

Hmmm. A few days ago my son was asked on a job application for a well known store.

Describe the last time you received outstanding customer service. Where was it and what happened?

His reply

I was looking for an unusual cooking ingredient. I tried S*****'s A store assistant helped me look but they did not have any. She then told me where I could get it in another store.

GR does not have all the answers.

I noticed that at least one of the GR team did not mind having links put on her own research thread including photographs and also had her own tree on A*******

;-) ;-) Good for the goose?
