Hi, I have recently bought this book and willing to check details for anyone who posts. Please be patient as may take time to reply but aim to reply to requests within 48 hours. Book is very helpful. Lists criminals names, crimes, places and dates of executions. Gives description of the court proceedings, places of execution and also details on the actual executioners. Kathryn

Hi The only Perrie I can find is the said William Perrie who was executed on 18th October 1838 for the murder of his wife Mary Mitchell. The book only lists information such as crimes etc and nothing to do with family unless the victim. 'October 18th 1838 - William Perrie - Paisley. A 38 year old tobacco spinner, and native of Glasgow, Perrie was hanged for murdering Mary Mitchell, his wife of 8 months in a fit of jealousy. His first wife had died two years before.'

Kathryn, That's an extremely kind offer, and one I'd love to take advantage of if I could, but I've not yet managed to get very far with researching my Scottish ancestry. The family name was Stewart/Stuart, and I only know of one with that name who was executed! LOL I doubt very much that I am related to him. CB >|<

Hi Kathryn I have a missing relative - Alice Jepson or Alice Graves - who is last recorded in my family tree in 1901 living in Bonhill, Scotland. When the family move down to London, she doesn't come with them but I can find no death certificate or further record. Just a VERY long shot, could you please look to see if she appears. I think it may well stay a mystery though. Thanks you in advance for your kind request! Jo

Hi Sheila There's a James Bryce for Edinburgh executed for murder but date is 03/04/1844. Murdered his brother-in-law John Geddes at Blaw Wearie, West Calder with fire tongs on 26th December 1843. Can elaborate more, just don't want to quote unnecessarily if not required due to no match. No Mason or Paris though.
