Hello everyone; I don't usually post on this board but I often read posts in case I can help someone. I would be interested to hear of other people's experience with communication from GR. We changed our email address this year and since then I have not been alerted about answers/queries from GR members via email as I used to be so I have to check back every day. Also, they didn't tell me my sub was due to expire. I didn't find this out until I tried to view someone else's tree. I have changed my email on my profile and contacted GR about these problems but have had no answer. |

When I first joined GR, some years back, their customer service was very good. Now it seems to be non existent! |

they alert you about hotmatches etc, when someone sends you a personal message. Is it something to do with settings perhaps in "my account". can you opt out of communications? I cannot remember. |

I used to get 'Hot Matches' alerts by email as well as notification of someone wanting to make contact or answering my messages but it is only since I changed email address this stopped. I didn't notice for a few weeks but when I did I checked my profile and my new email was on it so I don't know what the problem is. I know you can opt out of 'Hot Match' alerts and I did think of doing this as they are more luke warm than Hot as a rule! |

That's possible. I'll ask my son; he is an IT man and usually sorts out our PC problems. |

Thanks Budgie - I've done that and everything looks fine on here. I think I may have to sort out the 'address book'. If I can find it! |

Or check your Junk Mail folder - it is more likely to be your new em provider that is blocking messages, rather than a firewall. |
