Crikey Jane, The Kray Twins!!I saw a prog about them a week or two ago, Talk about Phsycopaths! particularly Ronnie, I think you were well out of all that! Have you found out a lot about your 'Birth Parents'? I only ask because I've been on a real journey finding out about my father's family.We lost all contact with them after he died, so I started with a almost blank canvass and have found out huge amounts, going back to 1730!! No family contact though, that seems to have been a definite NO! NO! not to worry, it's been hugely interesting with just about all the pieces of that particular jigsaw completed. Merlin very good tonight, seems to have got used to me 'doing' for him. So far, so good!!!

Evening All,

Went to the hairdresser for a trim this morning and she suggested cutting it a slightly different way to reduce the weight of it. She said she would be careful to blend it, otherwise it would look like a 'combover' in strong wind!! lol. It turned out fine so I'll have to see how it holds the style as it grows now and even better was FREE as they give you a free cut when you have had 6 trims.

We went to see the film Black Swan at lunchtime and quite enjoyed it. We'd seen Natalie Portman in THe Other Boleyn Girl that we'd recorded and watched this week. My neck was a bit chilly after being 'shorn'.

We ended up phoning the tv man to come and set up one of the tv's we'd moved. The 'magic eye' didn't seem to be working as we couldn't get S*y. We'd only had him 2-3 times in the past and he's retired now (which we didn't know), but he came anyway and sorted it all out for us and wouldn't take any payment for it! Wasn't that nice!

Poor little Katie Mandy. Little ones are usually so full of life, she must be feeling quite poorly. Hope she's soon better.

I've never seen a Goldcrest or a Firecrest. I must get out my Observer's Book of Birds!!

Will Lewis be sad to see the chickens have gone Frank? My OH always checks the fridge out too when I have been shopping. Lewis KNOWS there will be something nice for him in there. Any plans yet for the space where the chickens were.......crazy golf.....bet Lewis would like that!!

I always thought CATHARSIS was purging the emotions ie get it off your chest Frank
Although by association I suppose it is purgative in the broad sense.

Well I am off to Bedfordshire now.(In the spare bed).Chris is up at 6 tomorrow as he has got Surgery Duty.I don't want to be woken at 6 !!!!Not on a saturday lol.No doubt he will bring me a cup of tea at about 7 and Chester will come and join me for his morning snuggles.

Goodly Morrow my fair friends,

Once again the sun is shining and there is a heavy frost. Well it never really went from yesterday or the day before in patches in the garden that don't get the sun.

I have awoken with my achy hip today. Don't know why as I have'nt pushed a trolly or a wheelbarrow.

Trust everyone is as ell as can be expected this morning.

It is dark this morning,and doesn't feel as cold as yesterday.I think it will be lights on in here today.
The house will stink today .I am just cooking a bit of Coley for Chester and later it will be smoked Haddock for us.It is a recipe for the slow cooker again,It is Macaroni cheese sauce,spinach,and the Smoked Haddock.Finished off under the grill to melt cheese topping.I forgot it has fish stock too.

I think I will set the fire and light it again today as it is so dull and dark.
have just found a tin of very thick shortbread that I bought for Xmas.So I am going to have one with my coffee now !

Morning All

Not such a bright day today but no frost. The sun is trying to shine but it is warmer than yesterday. Just had a skype with the family. Hazel wants to see nan and papa soon so we may dash down before our hols if time permits. I hate their being so far away ( its 3and a half hour drive door to door) as we cannot just pop in but need to stay overnight. Fiona finishes work next week and we were going to wait until after our hols to go down before the arrival of the new baby.We shall see.
Hubby's conjunctivitus seems to have come back in both eyes this time. It is not as bad as before and we still have some drops but I think he needs to revisit the GP on Monday.

My eyes are funny again too.I have ointment to put in .It is so greasy,and then I can't see for a bit until it dissolves.

I think it will be a phone call to British Gas in a bit as there is water all over the garage floor.I think it is the condenser that is the problem and will need replacing again.I'll wait until Chris gets in from work and just get him to confirm what I think before I make the call.

I was looking through the evening paper and there is a photo competition.I am thinking about putting the Barn Owl pic in.I don't know.Have never done anything like that before.

Chris is just in so I will show him the garage!!!! BBL

Morning All,

OH has whizzed off to Telford to watch a match.........I looked up the shopping there and it seems to have plenty but I decided to stay at home as I thought it would be cold.....and now it isn't! lol.

Your hubby must be fed up with the conjunctivitis Anne, so itchy. I've only ever had it once, but what with the itchiness and blurry eyes after the drops!!. I have pm you.

Think I will sort out some papers now. I never seem to throw out my old car or house insurance docs till a year later.....am always scared of throwing the new ones away by mistake!! I need to go through all the 'instructions' for stuff and chuck out the ones for the things we no longer have as well.

Snap Jane! I entered 3 pics in a competition last night on a gardening site I joined last year.........the prize is only a 't' shirt though. Your Barn Owl pic was good......go for it! What a nuisance seeing the water in your garage.....hope it isn't serious....I hate seeing water where it shouldn't be!! When I have nightmares it is usually about drains overflowing or big holes appearing in the garden or house where the ground has collapsed into a sewer, or the water mains bursting so you can't switch it off!! lol

Ros has just gone of with Lewis to see Gullivers Travels. in 3D I just noticed she has left the glass's behind. She will have to buy more. (MORE EXPENCE) !!!!!

I now have 20 lookers on the coup and 4 bids £56.00 with a day to go.

I going down the garden to start bringing up the rubbish to go in the skip. I have promised I will only do a little at a time, but once I start I bet I will carry on till it's finished.

Anne that photo of me was the reopening of the Blisworth tunnel 25 years on. I was the postmaster at the time and produced a 1st Day cover to celebrate the opening. I'm the one in the uniform. The other chap has been in the HARRY POTTER FILMS.

I'm like you Ann, I never throw away papers,and have a filing cabinet FULL of stuff going back to 1999!!!! I always afraid of throwing out something that I might need!! Today the hospital rang! Oh has to have 'open surgery' on Monday as the chap who does the 'keyhole' is unable to do it for three weeks!!! we thought at first they were going to cancel it till then! but luckily we were able to have the choice! whew!!! Had two 'lots' round the house today, both very interested! we shall see!!! Have looked at a property up near Chipenham, about 40 mins from Laura, a bungalow in need of complete refurbishment, but with an acre of land stable and workshop would be ideal, but.....many a slip!!!! Jane, wasn't Barbara Windsor married to a gangster who lived in Spain?what was his name? I can't remember!! Catastrophy this am! OH in his haste to clear up the Sitting Room managed to trip over my pooter flex and break the connector!!!my battery only lasts for about 30 mins, LUCKILY he was able to repair it with a lot of huffing and puffing!!! I would have been well snookered otherwise!!!

Thank goodness your OH's op hasn't been cancelled.he make have a longer recovery time with the open surgery,but at least it will be done.

Frank,I didn't realise the shortbreads were so thick,honestly I didn't.But now they are open they will have to be eaten otherwise they will go soft lol
