I think swimming sounds a good idea for your back.I used to hate my face getting wet too but eventually you take no notice.Like opening your eyes under water.Now that did take me a long time to get courage to do that.

Maria I was going to say like Frank were they Pith Helmets?I think I do remember a Rag and Bone Man coming and the man on the tricycle with his big box on the back to sharpen knives and scissors etc.

The sun is out again after an hour or so of drizzle.I won't risk putting anything else out on the line.I'll stick with the tumble drier.
Just been down to the compost bins and Chester was busy getting dirty down the rabbit hole lol.Mucky Pup.

i remember Zam Buck --There was also somthing called Parazone(sp)
bought at the chemist and you would dilute it and it became Bleach for washing.----

Jane may take untill Monday to get oven fixed---Not to worry dont need oven this weekend.---

Parazone Bleach is what I use for the Loos Shirl,but you don't have to dilute it now.Just squirt it out of the bottle.

Who would like to come and give me a good rub down. I ACHE ALL OVER !!!! This gardening looks o.k. till you get out there and start. I've still got a load to do out front. and then to start on the back. How I will manage to dig, and clear up the chicken area, I don't know. I could ask one of the boys, but they never offer. So why start asking now. !!!!

OH I have done something really terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I reminded OH this morning about the funeral he was doing something in the pond filter. When he went out and about 1pm I went out to take something in the shed. I noticed the pump was'nt on so turned the switch back on by the kitchen door.

Got on with lots of housework. Did his study all out and hoovered all through. Loads of other jobs and brought the wahsing in as it had started to rain and glanced in the pond!!!!!!! There was hardly any water in it and one dead goldfish on the ledge.

I raced round to the tap and turned it on full tilt. When I went up the end he has a draining pipe which he takes some water out the pond with and it was rushing out of there like billyo. Turned all leccy off but it is taking ages to fill again. He is'nt in yet and it's gettting dark.

Oh Mandy, I'm SO sorry,I had no idea it was your birthday, I do hope you are having a lovely day, what is it this year,25, 30! can't be more!!! I remember Parazone, as you say Jane, used for cleaning the Loo! I once got a drop on a new shirt I had bought when I was first married, the shirt/blouse was blue and white check, and so pretty, well that was the end of that, I was so upset that I cried and Ian bought me a new one as a surprise, trouble was I didn't like it anything like as much as the ruined one, but I didn't have the heart to say, and wore it to please!! It lasted for ages, just wouldn't wear out and I didn't have the bottle for it to meet with an 'accident'. I've told him since and he just laughed and said 'why didn't you say, we could have changed it'! so there you go, all that being tactful and not wanting to 'hurt feelings' was a right old waste of time!!! Saw the prog about George V1th last night, found it really interesting, poor man with that stammer, and what a selfish man Edward V111th turned out to be! As for Wallis!!! She was SO brittle and frankly, deeply unattractive in everyway possible! Well, I thought so anyway!!!!

Oh Mel,I've just read your post!!!! I bet your heart hit your boots when you discovered your 'mistake'!!! Years ago, Ian and I had a Water Garden Nursery, and we sold Goldfish of all shapes and sizes. We also sold Golden Orfe (!) and Ian was away doing whatever,and I was left in charge of all these flipping fish and plants and Heaven only knows what else, the weather was very hot, and sure enough I came down one morning to discover these fish in particular gasping their last as the pump had clogged up with weed! luckily, I got there just in time and managed to unblock it and rescue them!! My mother, then had a dream that these blessed fish had all jumped oput of their tank and were lying on the path dead, and that I was having a fit about it all! Poor woman was as much a nervouse wreck as I was!!! Boy was I glad to see Ian later that week!!!!

Liz have you seen the film The Kings Speech?I know a few of us saw it on the same day.I will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.It was just brilliant.

Chester is not looking too happy.He tried to jump on my bed just now but couldn't quite make it and ended up in a heap on the floor.I hope he hasn't hurt himself.Maybe he is just feeling embarrased lol(I don't seem to be able to spell that word)

I got told that the pond filter has'nt been on for 2 weeks!! Was also told it will take hundreds of pounds to fill the pond back up!! we are on a meter. We shall fill it from the well tomorrow, thank goodness we have one and a big one too. He also told me the fish would probably be dead in the morning because of the chlorine (sp) in the tap[ water!

I am in the dog house................................................................

OOOOOO Mel , what a shock for you about your pond. we have Gold fish & Tropical fish in Fish tanks not out side. in the Dinning room, and OH spends hours sometime at the weekend cleaning and filling up the tanks with clean ater uses by pans to boil his water on . Makes sure it's not at meal times though other wise I would have no pans to cook in.

Liz we had a pet shop and sold all kinds of fish and ponds etc but that was 20 years ago and things are so different now.

He said as the sun was shining this morning and it was dry he was goiing to clean the filter out with the pressure washer so he fixed the outside tap first from the burst ipe we had a week or so ago. thank god he had done that otherwise I would'nt have been able to top it up from a tap.

Oh Mel.How many fish are in there?I hope you have plenty of water in your well to refill your pond.

Chris has just got home with details of the Dr Colleague who has died.I haven't heard of this for a long time.He will be lying at home from Wednesday until Friday for anyone who wants to pay respects.Would that be an open coffin?
