Not a very good day here. Ian has a urine infection and is also passing drops of blood,SO back to the surgery with a sample that has to go back to the hospital, just hope it's not sinister. Dr meantime, has issued antibiotics, so well have to see. Meantime, we have been well mucked about by our Housebuyers! They finally made an offer today that was far too low, so we have rejected that, which loosly means that we have lost the place we were after as another offer was on the table there which I expect will be accepted. We wonder if they were looking at another property on Saturday, hence they were SO late!!! Mind you, maybe it's a blessing in disguise bearing in mind the infection! who knows!! Anyway, back to square 1 !!! Hope you got the e-card Mel, and that you've had a good day! |

Liz hope Ian won't be in pain for to long, I once had a really bad migraine and I went to the Drs and it turned out that I had a urinary infection and that was why the headache was worse than normal. |

Margaret's right Liz. I lost a house once on xmas eve, but a few months later found a better one, so sometimes it is just 'meant to be'. I was just going to say I hope Ian keeps his pecker up...........perhaps not quite the right thing to say in the circs, but you know what I mean!! lol I suppose an infection is one of the risks of his surgery. He must be a bit fed up with it all though. I forgot to ask was Merlin pleased to see him after he came home? |

Frank I think the Corby area was where they released Kites a few years ago. There seem to be so many around now.So I assume they have bred ,which is great. When I see them I am just mesmerised (?SP).I love to see the way they use the tail feathers like a rudder to turn.I could watch for hours if only they stayed in one place lol |

Hi everyone, I have only just found this thread! Had to read a lot of posts to find "things people remember", but memories!!! I love the sherbert fountains with the liquorice stick (we call it "spanish" here in Yorkshire). You can still buy them but now they are in a plastic container, part of the fun of the old ones was when the cardboard tube went all soggy. Suppose it is to do with health and safety that they changed it! |

has anyone seen the film the black swan, wow wow what a strange film very sexy and dark, saw it with my daughter in law, i think she was a bit embarassed as people my age dont do sex do we ??. anyway its a very good film and has great actors. Ive not seen true grit yet or the kings speach, but im really looking forward to it. when me and len were courting we went to the flicks 4 times a week ,, the only way you could be alone in the dark in those days. |

Hi Everyone, and a warm welcome to all newcomers. Frank, all these women, we're going to have to keep an eye on your blood pressure!!! Today Ian's feeling a bit 'down', just sick of wet pads, and the general joys of 'sickness'!!! 'bunged tummy' has reared it's head again, which is a pest to say the least! I think it is rather a case of 'Two steps forward, and one back'! We shall get there, just takes time. Have been asked out to supper this evening with nice neighbour, will do us good to get out of the house, and be nice not to have to cook and clear up. hooray!!! Talked to Laura this morning, had a really nice chat with her, Ed had a word too,not that you could really work out what he was saying!!! cheered me up no end to talk to them! Yes Frank, I remember cardboard milk tops and making bobbles for woolly hats or anything else come to that. 'we' don't doubt that you were a nice boy, mischevous maybe, but nice!!! |
