Put some bread in your oven it makes the house smell nice. Good luck.

JustJohn Report 20 Jun 2013 11:21

Smell of bread? Poppycock. Get out of the 1980's TBK

Just be calm, Jude. That will help them to make their major decision. And you hardly want burnt bread wafting through your bedrooms :-)

AnnCardiff Report 20 Jun 2013 11:22

I think Jude can manage without your "advice"

JustJohn Report 20 Jun 2013 11:28

It is good to get any advice. Even burnt bread or tobacco or doggie smells. Some people may be attracted to buy a house specifically because of those aromas :-)

Edit. Many houses today smell of vanilla. And kippers. I like those smells very much and I would open my wallet, but others don't.

One thing the estate agents did when selling up parents houses recently was to switch all the lights on. Makes the whole house much brighter.

...brew fresh coffee...and good luck Jude :-)

JustJohn Report 20 Jun 2013 11:42

Now Andy's IS good advice, Jude. Plenty of light, and I would add not much clutter or family trinkets everywhere. And nice clean windows.

They will be looking at area (nothing you can do), size of house (nothing you can do), size and layout of rooms (nothing much you can do before 9.30am tomorrow).

So quick vac and dust round. Then you can relax over a breakfast of burnt toast and kippers and await their arrival. Hope it all goes well for you :-) :-)

On that TV programme about buying houses, they say "Go out side & look at your kerb side view".
