Hello all, hope you still remember me, lol. Sorry I haven't been on here for so long but my health has deteriorated so much I have all on just trying to get through the day. It's lovely that this thread is still going after three years, thank you Carole. I don't come on the computer much these days, I spend half the day in bed on doctors orders, the other half trying to make cards. A new hobby of mine, it's something to do which doesn't take much energy. I am getting really depressed again because I can't walk about, my legs give way so it's an effort just getting through the days.
It's nice to see all the old 'faces' are still here, it seems it's only me that went missing for a while, but to be honest I just couldn't be bothered with anything. I don't know why I am writing this now but thought I'd say hello to you all.

Hi Caz, nice to see you on here, even if you don't know why you are. Sorry that you are feeling depressed, although who can blame you, it must be hard for you. I do hope that the card making is still giving you some pleasure. For some reason I was feeling down today but I made a couple of cards this afternoon and was so busy concentrating on them I forgot to feel 'down' Lol!!! It is an absorbing hobby.

Caz of course we remember you!(With affection). Dutch phoned me Thursday morning and said you weren't well. I'm so sorry to hear that.
You have suffered so much over the years, more than anyone person should. If only I could change things for you. No wonder you are feeling depressed. It's nice to think of you making your cards, and that you get pleasure from that. Today I received a thank you letter for a donation made to the local hospitals stroke ward. The money collected at Dads funeral. The reciept said Mr C Tomlinson correctly, the thank you letter stapled to it said Mr C Thompson! I'm a bit peed off that they couldn't even copy the correct name from one document to another. I have to show my family and Mum that letter to show I did infact donate their money where I said I would. And they put the wrong name on the letter. I have sent a letter back to the ward sister (who signed the letter) to tell her the name was wrong. I hope a letter is sent back in the right name.

Hello from down under. Is everyone OK?
Our heatwave ended with a bang early on Sunday afternoon, temperature crashed from 34C to 24C in about 20 minutes.
Last Wednesday night was the hottest MINIMUM ever recorded in Sydney. The record lasted three days. Saturday night was hotter, after a maximum of 41 it barely dipped below 30 overnight.. 41 C, that is, or about 105 F. That's my excuse for no participation. Flaked out on my bed (coolest room) with a fan. Maybe I do need that air conditioner after all.

Hi Colin, I hope we are all well, not been a lot of activity on this thread lately. I bet you are glad the temperature has dropped. It is very windy here, bits of rubbish blowing all over the place but it is not a cold wind and it is not a cyclone so we can live with it.

Fancy a swap as we have snow AGAIN !!!and it is lying .

Had a bad nights sleep as the cat was out and the weather horrible I woke several times to check if he wanted in and by 9.30 was getting really worried .I shouted up to my son who replied " he is sleeping in the front room " Yes there he was sound asleep cosy on his duvet !!!!! He must have his own key as I don't remember him coming in .

Not daft your cat is he, he didn't want to be out in the cold, bet he snuck in while you were looking out of the door for him, they move like shadows sometimes.

Hi everyone, Kathy you reminded me of one of our cats, we looked high and low in the house, they weren't allowed out after tea as some went missing. We decided in the end he was out so went out looking for him, spent ages calling and looking in all the gardens, after an hour we went back to find him sat in the kitchen . Where he had been hiding we never found out.
Back is still playing up so I am not on here so much.

I came home today to find a son appologising that he had let next doors cat in " it was really cold mum " and sorry he is lying on your ironed clothes in the front bedroom . Have tried to shift him but he just keeps hissing at me .I suppose my fault for not putting them away !

My own cat had obviously nose out of joint had thrown up all over the dining room in protest as he was sitting there in disgust .

Caz sorry to hear your back is stll giving you problems . pm me some time

Sunday night laid trying to get to sleep, the small bedroom door opened and the light went on. Steve called out our sons name and Hi Dad was the reply. I sat up to see it was five to midnight!! Steve got up to go to the loo and son said he had popped in to use the computer. I will have to have words with him!!! He cant come home when we are in bed and use the anything!!!! I will start to leave the key in the door.

I suppose it is a fine line Carole. If you want him to still think it is his home and he is welcome maybe ask that he calls in before whatever is your usual bedtime. Then put the key in the lock (which is sensible in case of fire) as you go to bed.

I text him last night and just asked how he was, and said next time you call come before we go to bed. \then asked him if it was going to be a busy night. (He works nights). So I've told him without making a big deal about it.

Taking Mum to solicitors tomorrow to make a new will. Then out for lunch. Hope Mum has it ready in her mind what she wants to do in her will as she will have to go in alone and she wont like it. Always wants me or sister to do every thing for her, but on this occasion it's up to her .

Denise had a cataract operation yesterday. Apart from a little tanty when we got home - I've lost the gauze pad over my eye (which she didn't have- she had a clear plastic eye cover), all went well. Gets the other eye done in about 10 days. She won't know herself.
It was a nice excuse to have a couple of days off work, which I was really needing.
I had some time to myself today so I went into the city and the art gallery. Two China-themed exhibitions, one on the terracotta warriors and one on artefacts from the Tang dynasty. Then to a photographic exhibition at our state library (1940s to 1960s retrospective).
Hello Eileen and Dutch Joyce if you look in. And of course warm gentle hugs for Caz in Yorks. Also of course special greetings to supermum, who doesn't know her own strength. Mary, I know it all gets too much for you at times but you seem to draw strength from every setback. A cousin's little boy was diagnosed last year with an autistic disorder. His obsession is with trains, but can be satisfied with an intercity electric on its regular timetabled journey. Fortunately, I believe, they found out early. He was about four and was getting special education almost straight away.
I guess no one will be around this time of morning/afternoon/night but I will go off for dinner shortly.

Colin I am pleased to hear that Denise's eye op went well and wish her success with the other one. It must be lovely to see clearly again. Those exhibitions, especially the chinese warriors, sound very interesting and I am sure the time to yourself gave you a boost.

Interested to read about the cataract operation.Have to get my dad organized to go to the opticians to start the ball rolling for his.
Then I will never know what he is up to.

Good to see Caz back on here.Hope she is up and watching that woman again.

My internet has been playing up a treat lately so I have not been on here much.It is the same with everything where we live.We are always the last to get anything and then only if there is a bit left over!

Oh Sharron you are cheeky, I wasn't watching that woman I was nosying to see what was coming up the road, no really I could see something on top of a car that looked odd. At least I wasn't caught for posterity gassing with the neighbours, just looking out the window. I'm glad my cats never brought mice in, we had one that brought birds in and let them fly around the front room, he was used to me sat watching them so thought he would bring them to me, lol, I know that's on your other thread though.
Colin I'm pleased that Denise's op went ok and hope the next one will turn out the same, thanks for the hug by the way, I need them at the moment. Those exhibitions sound lovely, bet you could have spent all day there, I could easily have done.

I am on Facebook and I think it is quite disheartening when you get defriended by someone. I think a relative has defriended me. I have added her again though. If she rejects then she did defriend me, not the site playing up. And if you dont interact with someone then you might want to later on.

Colin those exhibitions sound wonderful. I'd be in heaven looking round them. While in New York last year I was lucky to see an Egyptian exhibition. The detail in the artifacts was mind blowing.
